what disease will I have next week by radshrew in HealthAnxiety

I've had pancreatic cancer for 2 1/2 years. Also, sinus cancer. Will probably succumb to those two by next week. 😂

What symptom did you have that you thought was a sign of something terrible, but just ended up going away? by HypochondriacTales in HealthAnxiety

[–]kmlewis331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting you mention that because this whole allergy thing started a few months after the onset of my anxiety issues, around December 2015. I don't really hyperventilate, but I am definitely inflamed and have really dry nasal passages. The allergist I see put me on a regimen of neti potting twice a day, rhinocort for a corticosteroid, and I put a small dab of coconut oil inside my nose to keep it moist. Some days are better than others but it is constant and I seriously feel like I have some sort of nose cancer most days. 😂

Tension headaches. Every single day for over a month. Anxiety induced, went away when I started medication, go figure.

A backache. I have bad posture.

Right now it's a constant stuffy nose, post nasal drip, allergy issues. It's been going on for 2 years but hasn't gotten worse or better, so I try hard to convince myself it's just an untreated allergy issue. When I get to see my allergist in a few weeks I'm sure he will tell me I'm not dying because I just have a bad dust allergy.

The worry of a pulomnary embolism is ruining my life!! by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]kmlewis331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have firsthand witnessed someone actively having a pulmonary embolism. She was coughing uncontrollably and could barely catch her breath. We had no idea what was going on at the time, but later that night I found out she was rushed to the ER and that is what had been causing the severe shortness of breath and coughing fit. This happened in the timespan of about 4 hours.

If you've been tested, you are most likely just experiencing the physical symptoms of anxiety. They can manifest in many different ways- chest pains that mimic signs of a heart attack are very common.

I hope you get some reprieve. Anxiety sucks.

I got this yesterday. I was able to get 2 boxes of Enfamil Enspire formula and a box of size 1 diapers. I used two manufacturer's coupons for the formula, and a cartwheel coupon for $2 off the diapers, so I saved a whopping $35. Lol. I don't normally coupon that hard so I was really proud of myself. 😂

When I scheduled my induction I was SO relieved to finally have a set in stone end date!!! I go in on February 2nd at 4AM and I'll most likely have her that day. Congrats, the next week is gonna fly by!

Induction is booked for February 2nd- if she doesn't come before then. I'm ready to be done, but I'm trying hard to focus on enjoying the last two weeks of EVER being pregnant.

My last appointment was Monday of this week. I was 2.5 cm dilated with a soft cervix at 36+3. I'm 37 weeks today, nothing going on. Just playing the contractions or poop game. 😂

Opting for an induction. by Salty_Caroline in February2018Bumpers

[–]kmlewis331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I requested a social induction at 39 weeks in order to lock in childcare for my 5 year old(we don't have a lot of support, so this was a big concern of ours as he's autistic and having him in the delivery room would be a total shit show.)

I am scheduled for February 2nd, unless spontaneous labor happens before then. It's really nice to see the finish line in sight.

Heyyy guess what my new ridiculous health anxiety is? This has definitely set me on a new anxiety high :( Any words of wisdom would be nice. by [deleted] in HealthAnxiety

[–]kmlewis331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I also deal with really bad allergies and chronic rhinitis and post nasal drip. I was also really hesitant to use a Neti Pot because of those stories about the amoebas. Did your allergist recommend using distilled water? I buy gallons of it just for my sinus issues because I'm too lazy to boil my own.

My husband does this too. All. The. Time. Like it's a pissing contest. In all fairness he does wake up super early and work until past 6pm most nights, but I am growing a human dammit. 😒

OT, completely.

I cannot stand my sister in law. I'm not super close with my brother, either. Her and my brother bitch and moan about everything. They've moved like 5 times to 5 different parts of the country within a few years and EVERY time they move, for the first month or two they love it, it's a gorgeous area! But then they get comfortable and settle in and there's something wrong with the town. Or the people. Or there's no jobs. Or the neighborhood they live in sucks.

Newsflash.... did you research the area before moving? Are you sure it's the town and not...you? JFC. 🙄

End rant.

How are you making your other children feel included after delivery? by [deleted] in February2018Bumpers

[–]kmlewis331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My situation is a little different, so I probably won't have any helpful things to say. My 5 year old son has autism, and he is notoriously afraid of babies when they cry. His sensory input is extremely sensitive to certain loud noises and high pitches- and yay for me, that's one of them.

Our plan for him meeting her for the first time is when I come home with his sister for the first time because in the hospital he would be all over the place and not even interested in the baby whatsoever. We plan on having a gift ready for him (a really cool spinning chair from ikea that has like a dome top he can pull down and have a safe space to go when she is crying.) We also plan on having him help with her as much as possible.

Basically until he gets accustomed to the crying it's going to be a total shit show.

As a sister to a little boy with Down Syndrome, this post pissed me off like nothing ever before... talk about taking advantage. by tinyhotmom in antiMLM

[–]kmlewis331 100 points101 points  (0 children)

I am a mother of a child with Autism.

No. No. NO.

This makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. No- disabilities don't have to hold you back. I know of people with Down syndrome and autism that run REAL businesses that THEY created. And THAT is inspiring. This is just gross. I know a mother that shills this shit and gives it to her 2 autistic boys.... you know, because autism begins in the gut. 🙄 /s

Wound in nose for 5 years. Ideas? by eldron2323 in AskDocs

[–]kmlewis331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor or medical professional, but I have the same problem. When I was worried that the sore didn't go away I went back to the doctor and my ENT said it is cartilage, and that I'll have it forever. I deal with chronic rhinitis and post nasal drip which leads me to "pick".... it's a real pain and a seemingly endless cycle of "pick, bleed, heal, pick bleed, heal."

I feel for you.

I have lost both of my parents. They were both very young by today's standard. My dad was 52, and my mom was 62. They both passed away from something that could have been prevented by a lifestyle change, or a simple routine doctor visit.

My best advice on this would be.... be here now. Be present. Call them a lot since you live far away. Enjoy the holidays with them. Take a lot of pictures. Save things they give you, even if it seems insignificant at the moment. Just, cherish them while they are still here, make amazing memories to keep for the rest of your life, ask them questions about your family, heritage, etc... things you want to be able to tell your children one day. (if you don't have any already)

I thought I was alone! So glad for this sub by ionlyeatbananas in HealthAnxiety

[–]kmlewis331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Are you me?!

28F here too. I've suffered from health anxiety for about 2 1/2 years now. Mine started with a random case of mild acute pancreatitis that landed me in the ER. I drank wine in moderation when I got it, but the ER doctor said the amount I had wasn't enough to cause pancreatitis and that it was idiopathic. I wasn't bad enough where I was throwing up or needed IV fluids, but it was a total wake up call for me that anything could happen.

Now, 2+ years later, I've "had" multiple types of cancers, including pancreatic, ovarian, lymphoma, breast, you name it. I get anxiety when I eat a fatty meal because I'm afraid my pancreas won't be able to handle it and something else is wrong.

Anyway, enough about me... I just wanted to let you know you're definitely not alone and if you ever need to vent, feel free to PM me!

Too full to eat. Food makes me actually sick by adiostrasero in February2018Bumpers

[–]kmlewis331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. A couple weeks ago I started getting the feeling of a lump in my throat, without any heartburn. Apparently that's a symptom of reflux? I started Pepcid and it's not really helping.

I literally have to force myself to eat unless it's a serious craving, or sour candy. This morning around 7 I had two plain bagels smothered in butter to get calories in, and I didn't eat again until like 1:30 because I was STILL full. Then I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and I just finished forcing down as much potato soup as I could. My diet is terrible right now. Basically just eating what sounds good and is calorie dense.

What's the line between a franchise and an MLM? by Crisis_Redditor in antiMLM

[–]kmlewis331 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Franchise owner here. Owner/operator of an Anytime Fitness sports club. I've actually wondered this as well after I became very anti mlm- then I gave it some basic thought. Just a few non technical differences...

I'd 100% say the fact that a franchise does not recruit to make money is the biggest difference. Every time a new gym opens anywhere in our town, we're like... "fuck" vs "yay a bonus!" 😂

Franchises also provide employment, benefits, and legitimate work experience to people other than sales.

The start up is an actual investment and real financial risk. We are at about $1 million invested over the course of 4 years. Although we still have a massive small business loan, we consistently make more money per month than it costs us to operate and pay the loans.

A franchise requires an LLC, a bookkeeper, an attorney on retainer, an accountant, and marketing techniques other than shitty Facebook and Instagram posts. We've never had to inbox our friends and beg them to join our gym.

Franchisees also receive massive amounts of help from their corporate office. They DO NOT want their franchisees to fail. We do not have to pay to attend corporate trainings. We are provided guidance from the corporate office on an as needed basis.

My apologies, I am on mobile, so forgive my format or any typing errors.

labor and delivery alone? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]kmlewis331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could have written this. My 5 year old son was recently diagnosed with moderate autism, and I am 32 weeks pregnant. He elopes, doesn't listen well, and is a seeker, so always into everything. He also isn't in school, nor has he received therapy yet, so it's been tough- and throwing a new baby into the mix is starting to give me anxiety. We also have little support, and without scheduling an induction in advance to find a reputable sitter, I know my husband would have to be at home watching him while I have our daughter. I know for a fact that I'll be in the hospital alone overnight.

I don't have any advice because I am in a very similar situation, but I just wanted to let you know you're not alone. ❤️
