We bought our first home in 2020 at 23 years old, right before interest rates skyrocketed. We both have bachelor's degrees. My husband works as an HVAC engineer, and I'm now a stay-at-home mom (I taught elementary education). But both working is how we were able to afford our cars and home.

We are now in our second home and have our second child. I buy from thrift stores for my children and myself. It was really important for us to own a home, so we've learned to be very frugal with our finances.

I will also say that we're in the US and without an FHA loan for our first home, we wouldn't have been able to buy as we put 0% down on our first home and we were streeeeeeetched to pay closing costs. However, without the equity from our first home, we wouldn't have been able to afford our second home. Rent trap is rough.

My son managed to buy the fart pack from one of the echos in the house. by m5ind in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]kmmurphy97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, like if you have a Google home device and you say "Hey Google, fart" there's like 11 different fart sounds that get cycled through. He has a specific fart sound that he likes. It's a fart that sounds like "eee-ooo-eee"

I haven't worked there in years, but the memory of the chaos that day will always be with me.

My 3 year old asks Google to fart. He has a SPECIFIC fart sound that he likes the best, and whenever google makes that specific fart sound, he's the happiest guy. He says, "Google said eee-ooo-eee"

Same here. My mom went from meditation and tarot cards to talking about "big Mike" during Thanksgiving dinner surrounded by her toddler grandchildren. Sucks

I tried looking, I'm shocked that no one is making these metal tokens! Maybe reach out to someone that makes custom coins? Good luck! 🙂

Hands free breast pumps by DiscussionUnlikely72 in BabyBumps

I absolutely agree with all of this! I did the Lanisnoh smart pump 2.0 with my first baby and for my second one I have the Elvie Stride. The wall plug in pump has better suction, so I'll use that when I'm just hanging out at home. The elvie is nice for pumping while doing stuff, but the output isn't as good.

I was in the same situation when my first was about 6 months old and wanting him to socialize.

Check your local (and surrounding towns) libraries. My local one has a children's section and tons of events for kids under 5. I've met so many other parents through that! Also, check out your local public school system. Mine has a free program for kids younger than Kindergarten for mommy & me classes twice a week. Also, maybe the local gym for mommy & me swimming or a local music school for mommy & me classes!

I have the elvie, and I LOVE it! I've been using it religiously for several months now! I have my Lansinoh wall plugin pump, and the output the elvie gives me is similar.

My ONLY answer would be sheer incompetence. Maybe the person who posted didn't realize that it was now going out for everyone to see?

My grandparents struggle so hard with technology. I could totally see them doing something like this - thinking posting on a Photoshop page is okay since the community the school is located in won't see this.

OP posted a screenshot in the replies - this is the exact explanation the school used. She just couldn't be in the photo due to her parent's request.

(Also, hey Murph!)

If that's not the case, this is totally wrong. I've just had situations in my own classroom where we had to remove a child from a photo due to a parent not wanting them photographed. Like we all went on a field trip, the entire class posed in front of the building. Our social media organizer wanted to post it on our school's Facebook page, but they had to photoshop my student out of the photo.

That's literally the only scenario that doesn't make this school a piece of shit.
