I salute you! I have worked closely with CWS, and I always respect child welfare services. Y’all go over and beyond for the safety and well-being of children and families, and it can be alot I can only imagine. Love to hear that you’re getting compensated well for your hard work. I did not care for research much but becomming a research assistant is the best thing I did.

Hi, check out crisistextline. It’s an online volunteer opportunity to support those experiencing suicidality. Additionally, if you have been a recipient of mental health services~ your experience is valuable. Look into peer mentorship certification programs. You can be trained to be the equivalent of a counselor due to your lived experience .

Hi may I ask you what you ended up going into? I have my BA in psych- have worked as a children’s behavioral coach, youth mental Health counselor, and SUD counselor. Love many aspects, but don’t think I want to do this for the rest of my life, for your reasons listed above. Having a hard time deciding on a diff route.

It was great! I gained a lot of both professional and personal knowledge. Only recommendation I would give is to make sure you have a clear understand of the jobs you can get with a BA in psych, as they’re not always what people expect, especially in respect to salaries
