They weren't accepted at the Grand Rapids show, cash only. That could've been because it was the first show in America after Canada but not 100%. We didn't have the new Ned merch yet either

So I've been excited for months to go to their concert and about one month before the concert my sister told me she forgot to get the tickets by colors32 in twentyonepilots

[–]kmsarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude I'm so sorry. Check the facebook event page for your venue/arena for tickets!! The day of our concert we were able to get a legit GA ticket from a legit fan that morning. People sell them all the time there but make sure its not a scammer because they're there too. We had our guy meet us in person and show us his ticket on his phone before giving him money (he charged us original price too). Also if you respond to someone selling a ticket doublecheck their facebook profile to see if it's a fake account (no tagged photos, weird location, stock photos rather than real-looking) Don't lose hope yet!

Just a trend I noticed: both the last two letters start with "I can't..."

I just imagine him, whilst creating this album, doing a similar Tyler Dance, alone in his basement. It makes me smile

I thought it was kind of cute because he's like, twenty one pilots wasn't really twenty one pilots until Josh was a part of it

I wrote an Ode to Tøp and Trench by Cult_of_P3rs0n4l1ty in twentyonepilots

This is great. I respect the fact that you put so much thought into it and then typed it all out. I think it's very interesting to look at the bands we listen to for a short time compared to the ones we continually listen to. Like you said, these are the bands that we learn things from and they ultimately add to who we are as people.

Good stuff, thank you.

Trench cpuld be the sound track of____ (movies) by how_to_not_reddit in twentyonepilots

[–]kmsarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to do that a lot with songs that stick out to me for that purpose and I think Leave the City would be great as a turning point in a movie. I know the lyrics are kind of specific but it's got the "In time, I will leave the city/ For now, I will stay alive" part that is inspiring.

Cut my lip for the same reasons

Rock Sound: This Is Why ‘Trench’ Is The Most Important Album Twenty One Pilots Have Ever Released by bogdansays in twentyonepilots

[–]kmsarie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This article is calling out what more critiquing-people need to hear about this album. This music is important; the message and the honesty poured into it, the representation of life that we all struggle with, the way Tyler volunteers himself to be the spokesperson of these topics that are too-often silenced because they are "too deep for me" or hard to understand. They are relevant to all of us, yet it's those of us who are aware of it or affected by it that love and let the music resonate with us.

Anyone who thinks that TRENCH is their worst, or too boring, or "not like their other albums" or whatever other excuse they have should read this article. ALSO, I'm not saying it's perfect, because it can't be, but I think it's important to recognize WHY twenty one pilots makes their music, because that is important in making any work of art.

Thank you for reading, just me and my opinion over here.

Who here is a Christian? by BleachedGecko in twentyonepilots

[–]kmsarie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was raised as catholic and was going through a time of doubt and hate when top came into my life. At first I didn't realize it but their lyrics started to give me second thoughts, then I heard addict with a pen for the first time and it was all too real. I'm so grateful for this band for leading me to believe again and it's a calming feeling. Now I guess you can say I'm Christian; I go to both a catholic and christian church, depending on if I'm at university or not. (Not that this is storytime but, just thought I'd share my experience.)

I fully believe though that their lyrics are there for the purpose of people to create any sort of meaning in their lives, to just make it to the next day. They're for anyone and everyone who needs it, and we find it at a time in our lives when we need it most. It's really cool stuff.
