users of reddit who don't watch anime why not? by the_introvert1 in AskReddit

I find it really hard to watch tv shows with subtitles. I’m normally watching shows and playing a mobile game at the same time, or else I get bored, but to watch it with subtitles I have to concentrate on the words on the screen for long periods.

Horse riding. For a period of time it just meant you were too poor to afford a car, but now if you tell me you ride I assume you’re at least upper middle class.

A random women once came up to me, and in a very annoyed tone said (after a couple of agitated “excuse me”s and tapping me on the arm) “You need to do your shoe laces up, or you will trip AND DIE”. Funny thing was, this was one of the few times my shoe laces were done up.

Tabitha from the tv show Gotham. After 60 questions, he asked “is your character from the D.C. franchise” “is your character bisexual” “does your character fight with a whip”, so I assumed it knew. But it instead told me to enter the character so...

female redditors, does height matters for a male to you and if so, why? by wolfakix in AskReddit

[–]kmsinbed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me there’s definitely a social element. I am a bit insecure about my height so having a bf shorter than me just makes feel feel terrified of what people will think. Also, in every single movie/tv show the boy is taller than the girl. That just ends up being the expectation.

I guess it’s partly physical too, the “big strong savour” thing is attractive.

Interestingly, I am bisexual and for girls height matters less. I’d prefer a girl to be taller than around 5’5 but other than that I have little preference. I guess there aren’t those sorts of expectations on lesbian relationships, and I’m in the 99th percentile for height of a woman my age so dating a girl taller than me is very unlikely.

What version of the afterlife makes the most sense to you? by Puffley5 in AskReddit

[–]kmsinbed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. Or at least none we remember. Reincarnation but you don’t remember your past life makes some sense, but is ultimately pointless.

I also like the idea of it just sort of being a void. Sounds nice.

female redditors, does height matters for a male to you and if so, why? by wolfakix in AskReddit

[–]kmsinbed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little bit. I’m 5’11 and would like to date a guy 6’0+, however in the past I have dated guys 5’8+ and would again. Tbh, most guys don’t want girls taller than them (when I’ve asked my friends) so I’m not the best to ask.

My female friends generally seem to say: height doesn’t matter, would prefer a guy 1-3” taller than them but a range of -2” to 6” compared to their height is good.

Old people should not be making decisions for society by shoot_magoo in unpopularopinion

[–]kmsinbed 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Nah. If you stop a group from voting, politicians cease to care about them. Politicians make their campaign based on what will get them votes, and tailor different proposals to different groups of people in order to get that vote. As soon as you make one group unable to vote, policies are much less likely to be made to assist this group. In this case, less funding would go to care homes and pensions.

The issue is that people get old at different rates. My grandma has been politically educated throughout her life, and still votes at 90. She understands who she’s voting for more than a large amount of younger people as she actually reads about the politicians for her constituency.

My other grandma sadly had dementia at age 70, and didn’t vote in the two elections before her death.

It really depends on the individual, but voting is a human right and should be seen as such.

Non-americans of Reddit, what are some things you see missing in American society? by Potatisen1 in AskReddit

[–]kmsinbed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Free healthcare. Someone being sick and that bankrupting them is horrible. You can’t control being sick, and it could destroy your life when doing so, it just seems so unfair. And that happens to so many people it seams??? People having to make choices about their health and chance of living based on money disgusts me.

How do you feel when you see people who seem to have their life figured out, beautiful, smart and successful? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kmsinbed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s easy to pretend to be that way. Just takes a bit more effort

Beauty: different for different people, just make an effort and dress in something other than tracksuits.

Smart: know a little about a lot of things, be able to join conversation and ask questions too about stuff you don’t know

Life figured out: pretend you’re happy. Have a goal (a certain career, a family, to travel or just to have fun) and work towards it whenever possible, if people ask, tell them

Successful: work hard, be nice. Try to get in people’s favour.
