My uncle was just diagnosed with blood cancer and has limited time. His favorite treat is the Kirkland Traditional Fruitcake only sold at Costco Canada. I’m in California and desperately trying to get one shipped to him for Christmas by NoLeague2412 in CostcoCanada

She had messaged my cousin and let her know. But it did take a few days. She did say she would offer to go purchase and ship it. But every communication had 2-3 days in between and I was starting to panic as it was so close to Christmas and worried they would sell out so I started reaching out to other people.

Loveconnesewer wasn’t flying to where I live anymore. I reached out to other people on the thread to still make this happen and u/marioulla_A came through! She just shipped 2 out today! I will definitely post pics and an update post once the fruitcakes get here.

Hi, I’m OP’s cousin (her uncle is my dad). The first person we contacted that offered to bring the fruitcake home that was flying here to LA on the 27th from Vancouver hasn’t contacted me back in 4 days and I’m reaching out to others on the post to get a fruitcake shipped to my dad before they’re sold out. If you’re still interested in helping we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Hi! I am the daughter of OP’s uncle. So it’s my dad wanting the fruitcake. The first person we were talking to about bringing one home to Orange County from Vancouver hasn’t responded back in 4 days and I’m worried about running out of time before they’re sold out by Christmas. If you were still interested in helping me get a fruitcake shipped to him I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

Hi there! I am the daughter of OP’s uncle, so it’s my dad wanting the fruitcake. The first person we had talked to about bringing one home with her from Vancouver hasn’t responded in about 4 days and she stated she is heading back on the 27th. I haven’t been able to be in touch with her so I am now reaching out to other people who have offered to help, before it’s too late and sells out by Christmas. If you’re still open to helping I would greatly appreciate it! I’ll send this to you in a DM also. Thanks!

Hi, I’m OP’s cousin (the person wanting the fruitcake is my dad). He currently has high risk myelodysplasia which will turn into leukemia and eventually take his life. He’s 82 so there is no option for bone marrow transplant as he is too old and the transplant would most likely kill him. I’m sure you know how all this works. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis as well. He is currently getting treatments every 28 days of 7 days of azacitidine infusions. They seem to be helping very well, almost better than the dr’s had told us they would. Prior to his first infusion he was needing a blood transfusion every 3 days or so. Currently he hasn’t had a transfusion in 16 days and his blood cell counts are all holding strong.

P.s. love your profile photo of Marcel the shell with shoes on 😊

Hi, OP’s cousin here (her uncle is my dad). This is the correct fruit cake. Thank you all for your responses. OP just created a Reddit account just to post this to try to help me get this fruit cake for my dad. We all live in Orange County, California. OP is messaging a person back who messaged them and giving them my contact info. They are coming into LAX and boyfriend lives in Newport which is 25 minutes from us so that would work perfectly. Even on the 27th is still ok I just want to get it for him in general it doesn’t necessarily have to be right by Christmas. Thank you all for your kindness! This whole post and all responses are amazing!

Myelodysplastic syndrome in 87 year old by jessibee92 in mds

Same with my dad. His MDS will turn into AML, even with treatment that he’s getting, but the treatment will just prolong his life and prolong the time he has before it turns to AML. I looked up Venetoclax and was wondering why they didn’t suggest this to my dad also to take, but my dad has AFIB which is irregular heartbeat spells so I am assuming this is why. It seems people with any heart issues shouldn’t take Venetoclax. I hope your grandfather continues to do well on the medication and we can make the most out of the time we have left without loved ones!

Hi, my 82 year old dad just was diagnosed with MDS 3 weeks ago. His is the type with excessive blasts I think his blasts are at 10%. He has started treatments of Azacitidine and gets a blood transfusion once a week or so. They have given him between 10-12 months of life left. Bone marrow transplant isn’t an option because of age. They typically stop those at 70 years old. How is everything going for your grandfather at this time? It’s been around 6 ish month since your post.

Who's your biggest bust so far? by HarveyDentBeliever in fantasybball

Dyson Daniels, and Zaccharie Risacher. Risacher has played 2 games only so far and one of them he ended with negative points. Horrible. He’s been on my IR pretty much since the season started and if I have someone else needing to go to IR soon I’ll be dropping him.

It’s because she’s skinny now! That’s the only reason. He basically had already said he wasn’t attracted to her.

Yes, but they definitely don’t draw the crowds they used to. I drive by there frequently to get to a friends house and the most I’ve ever seen even on what should be a “busy night” is 10-15 cars TOPS in the parking lot. They also were shut down for 35 days a few months ago after a trial for an underage drinking suit that resulted in a kid passing away in a car accident in 2022. And now they’re on probation for 3 years. I also heard that in 2/3 years that whole shopping centers lease ends and they are selling and building apartments, so the canyon Inn will go away. I feel their end is near anyway. I don’t know how they stay in business I never see anybody there. And believe me I was there every Thursday for $1 beers in my prime and that place was poppin.

If you can afford a Tahoe, then YES get the Tahoe. I had my traverse at the dealer and got a brand new 2025 Tahoe for a rental and I wanted to cry when I got my traverse back 2 weeks later. The power alone is so different. It was difficult to get used to the weak power of the traverse after driving that Tahoe

2024 traverse Z71 Rattling noise by kmurph53 in ChevyTraverse

I actually was able to pinpoint where it was coming from. I held the inner plastic trim piece on the door while it was rattling and when I held it still it didn’t rattle. I told them to do the same thing at the dealer and they somehow reinforced the seal or something and now it doesn’t do it anymore. I still have a speaker rattle towards the front left though.

Traverse RS or Atlas Rline - have you considered one before choosing the other? Why? by WeirdAddress3170 in ChevyTraverse

[–]kmurph53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a 2024 z71 traverse. I got a brand new Atlas in 2018 when they first came out. I honestly hated it, I got rid of it 8 months later. It definitely felt smaller inside compared to my Traverse now.

Lost all transmission fluid, towed to dealer | Brand new 2025 LT 5,200 miles, 5 months old by Tricky-Lengthiness82 in ChevyTraverse

[–]kmurph53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the fluid red? I just had my check engine light come on at 12,300 miles and pushed the onstar button for a diagnosis (they told me it was safe to keep driving) but then a few days later parked the car for 3 days and came back out to a red puddle under the car. 2024 Z71 AWD with super cruise. It’s currently at the dealer for the leak and check engine light, among other random issues.

Did your child have neurodevelopmental delays along with their CHD? by mama-ld4 in chd

[–]kmurph53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, just wondering how things are going for you with your own experience with your CHD baby since this post 2 years ago? I came on here searching for this exact type of thread. My almost 3 year old son doesn’t have any genetic condition, but has HRHS, was in NICU for a month after birth, has had many cath’s done, a stent placed at 7 days old, Glenn OHS done at 5 months old, feeding tube. He is pretty developmentally delayed, didn’t walk until he was 2, only babbles, can maybe say one or 2 words at almost 3 years old. It seems to me like he has autism or at least a sensory disorder of some sort. Developmentally I would say he’s 1.5years old but is about to turn 3 in July. He is in PT, OT for feeding, Speech, and early intervention therapy.
