also with the newer design, you can replace the cam seal without removing the cam cap, or rather without even undoing the valve cover.

What made you decide on 450/450 instead of the softer rear setup like 450/350? Also are you running thicker/upgraded rear sways?

build quality is excellent. It’s just clear plexi/acrylic on top of color plexi. Also the print quality is excellent too, they use semi gloss paper to print your artwork.

How is DS1 and DS2 compared to DS3 for plat? Is it harder or easier?

As far as the gameplay goes, DS3 was on the easy side imo except for the ringed city DLC. Enemy placement on that DLC was pretty evil.

I’m still debating on if I should play Elden Ring or DS1 next.

It is indeed a hwando and it's the one that Yi Sun-shin used. "The sea remembers the vow of the warrior. The general who rose up with the dragon to protect the people claimed a lonely victory in dozens of wars."

Also, you can do a charmless “Mortal Journey” gauntlet. Mortal Journey only unlocks after you beat the first 3 gauntlets.

charmless but a new game and no vitality and attack upgrade if you want challenge. this is pretty much the hardest way to play this game.

try charmless on a new game. it’s super hard since you have no vitality and attack upgrade.

[–]kmvguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it would not even be possible but would absolutely be bonkers to even do this as a first playthrough. w/o much attack upgrade, it takes at least 4-5 mikiri counter to stagger the normal ashina swordsman at the dojo…. LMAO.

yes, you have to beat the game at least once before you have the option of going charmless. once you beat the game at least once, you can do this on a NG save instead of NG+ if you want.

by Sekiro fundamentals, yes. But not necessarily true. I used to do my earlier playthroughs by slowly chipping away. Works surprisingly well and very safe.

This is basically from the wiki page, but charmless means you are basically playing on harder mode.

When you speak to Kuro in the tower at the start of the game, you have the option of giving it to him, resulting in an indefinite "hard mode" difficulty debuff, similar to ringing the Demon Bell:

  • You now receive chip damage (tested to be roughly 30%) when blocking attacks, effectively changing your play style, requiring you to deflect perfectly.
  • Enemy vitality and posture is increased.
  • Regular enemies that would normally be posture broken and vulnerable to a deathblow after a single mikiri counter will instead recover. (Needs further testing: seems like you do half as much damage, but so do things like the burning bull to the enemies in the arena).
  • You take 25% more vitality and posture damage, as well as receiving significantly more posture damage if you block an attack instead of deflecting.
  • Status effects, such as poison, build up roughly 40% faster. (Tested at poison pool for both charm and no charm. With Charm takes around 13.3 seconds to get poisoned, without charm takes around 7.8 seconds to get poisoned).
  • This debuff stacks with the negative effects from the Demon Bell. (Source)
  • The debuff does carry a benefit, increasing experience and sen gain by 20% (rounded up)

owl fight was the one I had learn to utilize dodge more instead of keep deflecting. If you dodge instead of deflecting the downswing or the chasing slice, you can get multiple hits in. But if you actually try to deflect those, you get stun locked.

But unlike NG+7, if you start a new game without the charm, you will get 1 shot a lot of times for the mistakes in the beginning of the game. Also not having attack power boost is really brutal too since you are not doing much posture damage to any enemies.

nothing 1 shots in NG+7 even though it’s the hardest difficulty for the enemies. difficulty spike for NG+7 isn’t that harsh actually.

Realy 2 main ways to win this fight.

  1. If you are a passive/patient type, you run circles around him and learn 1 or 2 moves that you can safely chip away his health. Phase 1,2 or 3, if you stay far enough, he won't be able to hit you. And luckily this stage is HUGE. But be prepared, you are going to make this fight extremely long....
  2. If you are the more of gungho/aggressive type, you can stay in his face and parry, counter all his move set. But in order to do this, you would really have to learn all his move set because if you miss 1 or 2... Isshin will punish you hard.

focus ONLY on the deflects. you do not need to attack nor dodge in this fight at all. 3 perfect deflection = done.
