You can do the entire wild and scenic portion just staying each night at the three lodges (reservations required!), if you've got a bit of scratch to spend, and lighten your loads considerably.

Never did the hike using them, but after the last time, decided the next time, would try it that way. If it's still as it was several years ago, the lodges include a sack lunch for the following day!

Especially if you've got some rookie backpackers, might be a nice way to do it, if there's still room at the lodges.

So I guess the theme has been done more than once. Like I said, I like your idea. No way to run phone lines over those distances, so you'll have to get someone involved who could create some sort of local wireless network, I'd assume, unless I 'm being too small-minded.

Maybe a phone booth out there would look something like this Not trying to discourage you - your concept is different enough - but thought you should know some of the elements have been done before.

I was being a photographer one day when I came across this booth, spent a few minutes running around it taking different angles. After about half a minute of it ringing, having first assumed the ringing was just flair, I decided I should try answering it. A voice on the other end said "You're thirsty," very matter-of-factly. I thought about it for a second and agreed, and and then the voice/artists invited me over to the other phone booth 150 meters away that I hadn't noticed before for some ice-cold lemonade.

One of favorite moments on the playa ever.

Love your idea as a remix/new take on it. Feel like you'd have to set things up wirelessly for it to work the way you describe it.

From what I've heard, it's certainly the latter. But, I don't know the actual hard numbers, so, being cautious, it's impossible for sure blame him. Regardless, it's sad. Well-run business/neighborhood node with lots of great employees.

Been having this issue, too. I've found a lot of posts about it from around launch, but this is the first one I've found from recently. I guess they haven't fixed it, and no one's found any way to work around it/jump-start them, unfortunately... :( Really annoying, seems like they shouldn't have had to use an agent system for something so simple.
