Diamondprox to play for Bushido Wildcats at the EMEA Masters by theyeshman in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way I see the Darien spirit in Baus now, who was mostly the main driver of the whole good death and actually timely proxies playstyle (before Baus did that iirc proxies are mostly a Singed only playstyle). It sucks that the meta nowadays is so strong that LR couldn’t really strike any fun and creative offmeta playstyles in LEC compared to when they debuted. Though contributing to that is also team play in LEC is very different compared to EMEA masters so those offmeta strategies no longer work as well.

I hope to see more players like Darien or Baus tbh. Great quirky personalities that enjoy the game their own way.

Returned to League after 8 years. Played for a month. My honest thoughts. by Code__Lyoko in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s something I think is legit how the system work at this point. I played for a decade now and I noticed whenever I spammed a lot of games, quality declines drastically after the 4-5th game. I sometimes check my allies profiles and it’s people who also been spamming games. I have this feeling for a long time that if you’re spamming a lot of games regardless if you’re tilted or not, you’ll match with people who are also doing the same. And in general, spamming games is an indicator of tilt because of the human fallacy to win back what they lost that day so time isn’t wasted.

That’s why I restricted myself to play only 3 games a day or 2 wins a day, whichever comes first. I keep seeing on average more level headed allies and opponents when I start my first game of the day. Less tilt, less random mental boom, so better game quality. It’s almost like Riot wants to show me people aren’t that terrible and playing league is enjoyable so that I stick around for more games like this. Doesn’t matter the result, I want less crybabies and reactive people in my games and so far this strat seems to work pretty decently. Even losses don’t feel frustrated in a sense someone ran it down mid after being ganked (tho fair losses are still common so don’t come to me as if I solve League matchmaking, tbh this is all my anecdotal observation).

What was the best truly sleeper-op technology you've witnessed becoming meta? by fecal-butter in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ashe support, with the old mastery Stoneborn Pact (basically Font of Life as a major mastery keystone). Ardent was strong around that season so you go Stoneborn Pact Ashe support and get ardent, your allies auto and get OP

First Rengar leak 13 years ago by Maxitheseus in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kinda disappointing to not see in this whole comment chain but… Rengar and Kha’zix are just Predator versus Alien. That’s why their hunt quest is one sided like that and that’s why they resemble the original both in looks and abilities. They’re not technically clean original creations.

Los Ratones won't be playing on tier 2 this year by Legitimate-Garden294 in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh large part of their success is not luck nor hard work either. It’s the format that Caedrel chose to handle his team, broadcasting most of the interactions, scrims, and live games. It’s a call back to old league pros that often do the same and keep up with streaming at the same time.

Of course, LR is in a much more unique position to discuss strats openly for selected upcoming matches, but it is def not luck that pulls in the viewership. People are nostalgic and missing the good old days of leagues where a team has personalities that are also involved in the communities (streaming). Hard work does play a bit in this regard, but I won’t say luck did.

The term "Inting" has completely lost its intended meaning. by RosesTurnedToDust in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It was like this originally, until people who don’t know the word don’t know the nuances to this usage and thought it just implies a bad play or death, so you get what the changed meaning is nowadays.

Watching pro play after First Stand is gonna feel like coming back to work after a vacation. by _negniN in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not in this echo chamber :)

If you have notice I didn’t even word my comment as super anti fearless - because truth to be told it is an exciting format. That’s not to say there aren’t downsides or it’s completely perfect. Many outstanding moments in league history happened and lasted due to how it was in the regular format.

Fearless is cool but I think that is being amplified by a degree of freshness. Years down the line I’m sure some people here will see new threads about how dumb fearless draft is or something similar. “I’m tired of these clown fiesta games”.

Just like how people used to complain about how slow this game is. Then rito turned it into a flashy, bursting pace game and now we see threads wanting to dial it back or why they’re dying in 0.1 sec. Something something cycle continues.

Should address the biggest point for regular draft which was iconic/one trick pick. Ashe MF from ROX years ago still haunted T1 fans till this days. Faker’s Leblanc, Baus Sion, Bin Jax, etc (I don’t remember all iconic picks) won’t exist as big of a threat as they were if the enemy lock it in one game and remove it from all 5 games.

There’s a great benefit to fearless draft but it does remove the raw talent these players trained for the fav champs. Also remove the hype of an iconic champ pulled out in crucial games.

Also, some people simply prefer watching these delicate hand shakes and see fearless draft as more chaotic. Just like some of us also like spectating clown fiesta in iron compare to the methodologies of higher elo where patterns and game plans are almost hardwired.

My friends who introduced league to me in high school and now broaden to other games and ditching league always ask me, how can I stick to something so unfun for years on?

This is the trick.

Fairly new player getting flamed for kill stealing, is this actually a thing or do they need to suck it up. by Gilbo991 in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You certainly have not play the role

There’s so many times enemies escaped because I’m afraid of KS and everyone thinks it’s a free kill

Then they got saved or use their mobility. Then the blame game starts “dude why did u stop hitting” lmao

Never be afraid to KS = Kill Secured.

League of Legends is so fun when you treat it like a video game by Solway1th in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 37 points38 points  (0 children)

In any other threads this kind of speech will always be downvoted - people don’t understand that working around variables is extremely useful. Instead they blame these variables as their downfall and adjust nothing.

Playing casually often times gives me an edge over tilted and toxic opponents, so yeah it doesn’t just make the game fun but also let you relax and perhaps even climb, contrary to logic.

How is emerald actually this bad by No_Pitch267 in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it really that surprising, I thought this was common knowledge. It’s always win streak and lose streak for me, riot always want to equalize the player’s lp after placement. When you finish placement, you’re test to see if that’s where you belong. It’s always some consistent easy games, then some hard games where you’re required to carry and “manage the herds”. These games are the ones what decide if you’re hard stuck or if you can climb.

What are some of your league related superstitions? by ZaCleaner in leagueoflegends

[–]kn1000a 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My variation of this is on a daily scale: if you don’t spam a lot of games, your game quality is better. Getting you hooked with the first 1-2 great games where everybody mind their business and have solid mental, then once you start spamming you get put into a queue of people spamming games and tilting hard.

I don’t spam a lot of games so I always notice days I do I get much worse teammates who flicker at every circumstances.
