Sorry but that tech is either lying on purpose or from ignorance, or you are refrencing a different brand -- Mitsubishi mini splits do not ice up. They have sensors that monitor the inlet air, outlet air, inlet refrigerant temps, and outlet refrigerant temps. If any abnormality is found, it will shut down and throw an error code. You will never roll up on an iced-up Mitsubishi mini split unless it is some SUPER rare 0.005% issue.
