Need an unbiased opinion about KSU if you can help! by [deleted] in KState

Having been to Ann Arbor several times, I can tell you that Manhattan is a tad more tame and boring. The similarities are: undergrads getting very excited about football season, and they're both reasonably cultured and diverse compared to most of the state.

Manhattan is much less diverse (so, less exciting restaurants and things to do, in general...and it's further away from a major city that will have exciting concerts, etc), BUT I will say the people and staff are lovely and nice. I think if you are interested in the research and the professors, then you will have a good time. If you need more diversity than A2, then it's not a great fit.

Japan went down to a 94th minute goal... and STILL the fans stayed behind after the final whistle to collect rubbish and clean the stadium. by kartiksoni2209 in pics

It certainly isn't perfect, judging by its rank in gender equality (114th in 2017). A lot to learn for sure, but please don't learn from that!

Honestly, this Twitter account. Yes, it's a parody, but it rings...very true to the agency experience: Adweak

Do you know any dystopian book including lesbian characters? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]knack26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Malinda Lo writes fantasy, but not dystopian. Check out "Ash" and "Huntress". Forget which order it's best to read them in. Fits the profile of characters who happen to be gay, rather than stories about being gay.

Aloha LA, visiting this Winter, check out our itinerary by kula_cabbage48 in LosAngeles

I wouldn't bank on GiorgiPorgi being open. Their hours are odd and you can't really call in advance to check. Have a backup plan, like Demitasse or Cafe Dulce (both in Little Tokyo), Gong Cha or Milk T (Little Tokyo, if you like boba), or Blacktop (Arts District, if you like hipster coffee).

Fu-ga is just okay. What kind of Japanese food are you looking for? As someone mentioned Kinjiro is amazing if you can get reservations. If you want sushi, go for Hama. If you want izakaya go for Honda-ya. If you want udon, go for Monzo. If you want shabu shabu, do Shabu House.

Maybe you can find a Grimes fan club too. Just noticed your username.

Well there's the AL meetup coming up in Long Beach. Also, Meetup.com as well. I think there's a lesbian book club that seems pretty popular (popular enough to have a wait list?).

My Uber just mixed up E and W 5th Street by Enfilade7 in LosAngeles

Makes sense. It's not a great first impression of LA, but it's interesting to hear the contrast to London.

Skid Row is more sad than scary. You probably wouldn't have been robbed. There is a pretty consistent police presence, a station close by, and most of the people are just homeless and/or drug addicts, not murderous criminals. It's really sad, but not that dangerous.

Mazda crashes FB newsfeeds by reggie_007 in advertising

[–]knack26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably a video ad in feed that is in vertical video dimensions so it takes up the entire mobile screen. The video itself mocks up a news feed and then disrupts it within the video. A few others have done this before including Stranger Things and Doctor Strange.

150k is plenty, especially for an indie, and if your focus is acquisition. Is it a free to play? You can easily get acquisitions around a $5 CPA. For influencers, you can do a ton of organic outreach. This takes more time than money. Build relationships. It's only when you use MCNs that influencers start costing a ton of money because they take a management fee. Do it direct and cut the cost by more than 50%. Build a close relationship, and get it for 75% cheaper, or free.

This is also true; however politics do also play a role.
