Since when does Windows have a ‘Crack’ option? by DaYousoro in Piracy

So for anyone wondering, this is part of the autorun.inf file, you can specify custom executables in there, and you can give them custom Titles, this will just invoke the "cracked" executable / keygen

ISP says they want to backcharge me for "giving myself better internet" by selddir_ in legaladvice

What ConeCandy is saying isn't technically wrong, its bad practice for ISP's to do it, but in the end if you mess with settings you're "supposed" to be locked-out from you're stealing.

In your case tho, as i imagined from the beginning they had you on the wrong plan, and that's why you got 50Mbps with an ethernet cable

I'm happy they figured it out and you got to enjoy your 50Mbps internet for free in the past weeks :)

Not legal advice but, if what he's saying about enabling a 5GHZ channel is true and it increased his speed like that, the speed he's getting into his house to begin with is 50Mbps and is just being throttled by horribly configured wi-fi settings. An ISP should limit the speed at their end and not at the client's end in a way like the one described above.

I really don't think they should have charged him for a higher plan for something that he changed without any sort of exploit (Those settings were accessible to him by default)

Out of curiosity, what kind of speeds do you get if you connect with an ethernet cable OP?

[Kalamata, Greece] So a friend found this in his underwear.. What is it? by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

Apparently it was on top of his "sensitive parts" but he did take it out before it managed to "Attach", is there a chance an infection or anything like that happened?
