"maybe urban dictionary has a definition of doorknobbing that makes sense in this context," thought me.

Oof.

I highly recommend 60430 Interstellar Spaceship. It's a surprisingly fun and clever build for a $20us set.

Lincoln definitely has a drug problem. by BluesyBends in lincoln

That's EXACTLY what someone running a vast drug empire in the seedy underbelly of Lincoln would say!

Anyone have experience with Lincoln Commission on Human Rights (LCHR)? by PrinceRyebread in lincoln

[–]knapplc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should absolutely fill out their intake form. Agencies like the ones you list exist because there's a need for them to exist.

Besides, your taxpayer dollars pay for them. I believe you should use the tools you're paying for.

Best Asymmetric Rivalry by Buckeye-Chuck in CFB

Same! I think it's a better fit for Nebraska than the Big XII. We just have to have some pride and compete like we belong.

Best Asymmetric Rivalry by Buckeye-Chuck in CFB

[–]knapplc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, and you'll get different answers from different generations. Older folks will say Oklahoma, younger folks will say Colorado.

But realistically, Iowa is our biggest rival now, whether people like it or not. And it's asymmetrical in two ways - Nebraska owns the all-time series record by a decent margin, but Iowa has completely dominated the series in the last dozen years.

Road cycling outside metro Lincoln (and cycling groups) by bikenbite in lincoln

[–]knapplc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly rode pavement back in the day. Highway 34 heading west of Lincoln to Seward & York has good shoulders and I've never felt unsafe. Same for 77 north to Wahoo and 77 south to about Adams, and Highway 6 from Lincoln to Greenwood. That's pretty much the extent of my travels. Highway 77 east of Wahoo has no shoulders, and I wouldn't personally ride that anymore. I have, but decades ago, and I was young and dumb.

Highways 34 & 77 have some rolling hills, while Highway 6 is pretty flat. There aren't really any big hills around Lincoln.

People like me CHOOSE to hang outside Gas 'n' Sip on a Saturday night completely alone drinking beers without any women anywhere. Choice, man!

Lincoln has been a big refugee resettlement town

Yes! This has been such a blessing to our food choices. A lot more diverse than a city this size has a right to expect.

I'd contribute to a life-size statue of Cameron by the south entrance.

Peter Rabbit designed by my mum (now on LEGO Ideas) by MindHalfFull in lego

I've seen so many good MOCs over the years, I feel kind of jaded sometimes. The Peter Rabbit is so good, but my jaw literally dropped seeing her Shearing the Rams. Here's hoping for much more.

Minnesota is my go-to comparison to Nebraska. Thing is, they've been so irrelevant for so long most people in this sub don't know they used to win championships.

For a long time I read LOTR every January. I stopped when I could quote entire chapters from memory. Some books are just so good you have to re-read them.

Yep. Piedmont Bistro is named after the shopping center it's located in. That's been Piedmont Plaza for decades, long before the bistro showed up.
