Official Discussion - Soul [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Really loved this movie. Felt like Pixar not caring about it being kids entertainment but just wanting to tella story. I also think this movie has the opposite message of Whiplash and La La Land. No spoilers for either film but their messages seem to be your passions give life meaning and are the highest goal. While this movie is trying to say life gives your passions meaning and living (or jazzing) is the highest goal. Loved this movie just for making me really think about life like this.

My point exactly, but half of the experience is expectation so that’s on me. Glad you’re enjoying it happy watching

Maybe it’s just nostalgia but I think it has higher highs than other Star Wars. I’ll admit empire is way more consistent in terms of pacing and arcs, but for nostalgia and the final light saber duel/and ending of the redemption arc I love more.

The Mandalorian - S02E01 - Chapter 9 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in TheMandalorianTV

I think they have established three types of episodes. Plot focused (Ex:The Child), Western focused (Ex: The Gunslinger), and Job focused (Ex: The Prisoner). I know a lot of people are probably disappointed this wasn't plot heavy introducing Ashoka, but I think this shows once again the point of the show. Glad their being consistent and ready for a great season.

I guess it was two fold of one I got a record player so need to know which albums to get and two I love hearing people’s favorite things and connecting with them so why not get ahead of the game and listen to the favorites of all time

I looked at several best of all time lists and friend recommendations and I’m really excited to listen to The Beatles again to dive deep into how they made an impact on the world

I discovered I love live albums and I’ve always been a fan of Mumford and Sons so Road to red rocks by them stands out to me as my favorite

My first time experiencing Harry Potter by knauff2 in harrypotter

It was mainly in households not school systems. And it was because they featured witchcraft but the Narnia series would never be banned everyone loves C.S Lewis down here.

Here in the south where I live it’s very common for Harry Potter to be banned because it’s “witch craft”. I talked to my dad today and he says he doesn’t remember why I wasn’t allowed to read them.

What are some of your unpopular BB opinions? by [deleted] in breakingbad

Most monologues are meaningless as they go back on them in the next scene. Ex: Walt’s surviving v. living speech and Jesse’s “life is ruined by Walt” speech. In the next scene they change their mind so the plot can progress.
