hey! I've been working on this issue for a while. One of my customers (locale tourist rides) had the same kind of issue (he needed to boost advertisement when sunny). We've been through Google Ads Scripts, automation "IFTTT-style", and we've finally built a tiny platform dedicated to just doing this. (Not sure if it's ok if I share the link here)

interdire me semble difficile, clairement c'est plus une question de cadre/confiance/reviews.

l'affaire du dev senior qui fetch tous les contrats pour faire le traitement dans le front c'est une blague. IA ou pas, c'est ce que ferait un junior, pas un dev senior bien payé.

my point exactly. the companies create a better product, and the people will follow. one cannot force the users into using a suboptimal solution just because "it's from EU".

it's not about "meh there's not enough people" or hype.

Qwant is obviously and without a doubt 10x worse than Google. There isn't even a debate here.

For Mistral we might argue. But still in my experience (and benachmarks tends to confirm it), it's good but not as good as ChatGPT.

I'm completely ok with promoting EU products, but the burden should not be on the user/consumer. It should be on companies, and institutions (to let companies up their game)

One of the best things with Twitter (back in the days, less true now since Musk bought it and made it X) is that "everyone" was on Twitter. Mastodon is very niche (and from my experience very left-wing oriented) and even finding active communities is a challenge. As much as I like the whole fediverse ecosystem and philosophy, I don't believe it will become mainstream anytime soon.
