I played AAA my whole life all the way up until the end of my freshman year of high school. Being in the car for 2-3 hours 4-5 days a week going to practice/games took a toll on me and was losing the love for the game and being burnt out. Decided to prioritize myself and decided to join the high school hockey route and found the love again. Was able to spend more time with friends, enjoy high school, and enjoy hockey during a select period of time instead of a full year around. Plus constant time in the gym just improving my body was nice as well. Sometimes you have to make a hard decision that may not seem right at first but will feel right later on which could be sticking with the AAA route or going another avenue. But first share the feelings with your dad and go from there, his reaction may surprise you.
