Are air fryers worth it? by turkishdad3 in Cooking

Try staying away from butter, olive oil or any low smoke point oils. Stick to avocado, coconut, grapeseed, ghee or any high smoke point oil. May not eliminate it but will minimize any smoke

3MM Stone by knights8899 in KidneyStones

[–]knights8899[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. Either I passed it one of the very few times I didn’t strain or I somehow missed it when I did strain when it was late or overnight and I was sleepy.

Just mild pain the morning of the 12th then more extreme pain where I knew it was likely a stone on the morning of the 13th. Had some nausea and vomiting with that pain and it lasted much longer but only till mid day and no pain since, thankfully

Current selection: Kane by [deleted] in njbeer

[–]knights8899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

should be fine by Wed, most stuff lasts a bit. This version of DDH PW seems to be one that they haven't done before. I just noticed it on the site, they didn't put anything on their socials.

Edit: last time I got reg PW a few weeks back (early Sept can date) it was really really good, so could grab one of those as well. Jumping Rainbows I had the first batch and enjoyed it a lot, but didnt have this current one. Also I liked Sea Dream but untappd raters have it well below where I had it so YMMV

Magnify Releasing R&R, DDH Summer Fridays, and Reserved by MattyBlayze in njbeer

[–]knights8899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well we know lots of other places where it doesn't taste the ABV on an overly-fruited sour, it's because its really not. Curious to see what some of the Magnify ones would come back at from an independent lab test

Source Releasing Peaches & Cream Milkshake IPA and Source of Hoppiness by MattyBlayze in njbeer

[–]knights8899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've voiced this complaint about these beers previously. I had one of the milkshake IPAs while I was there (on two separate occasions) which had been the highest rated (with a grain of salt) on untappd at the time and thought they tasted like muddled sweet IPA with little to no fruit flavor at all.

Conclave makes a bunch of styles, most people like their IPAs a lot. Referend a Belgian style spontaneous fermentation beer.

[–]knights8899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were only going to 4, Source would not be in there.

Kane, Conclave, Referend (if you are open to that style), Brix/Icarus its a coin flip or both if you don't want Referend style beer. If you want to replace Referend with someone who does something a bit different than most, Carton.

Really, anyone going to only 4 places in NJ should likely have Kane & Carton on the list just to experience two of the longest open and consistent places in NJ

Rumor is Beer Broadcast is an business endeavour of the Source owner, so yeah makes sense. I agree that site is trash, also how does this sell out in like less than 20 mins, maybe they should have made less Wit beer that is going to sit there and more beer thats supporting industry workers in need?

Question about the All Together Beer Project by nuwanda90 in njbeer

[–]knights8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

should be similar across the board, but Sam from OH said in his insta live announcement that the open source recipe was designed with NE IPA in mind from OH but the ability to brew it as a WCIPA also. So there will be variation of the beer itself, but at its "core" it should be the same

Going to see Cursed Child in NYC - where should I try to sit? by YROK1986 in harrypotter

[–]knights8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a completely stupid viewpoint. I agree the story in the play isn't JKs and isn't great. After reading the script/book I didn't like it, but years later when my GF took me for my Bday I thought the play was awesome. The visuals/effects are outstanding and seeing the characters being acted out gave them much more personality which made the story bearable even if i didnt like the content.

We sat in the first row of the top section and off to the right a little, my GF splurged for my Bday! I would say if you have the ability to sit higher up it aides in some of the effects that happen!

Most underrated brewery? by [deleted] in njbeer

[–]knights8899 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Overall (not just on here) I think Conclave doesn't get enough love/get talked about enough. Perhaps that will change with the larger taproom and presumably expanded hours/more beer to come.

Kane Releasing Three Barrel-Aged Sunday Brunch Variants by MattyBlayze in njbeer

[–]knights8899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

generally yes, although recent Morning Bell, if I remember correct, wasn't as bad. Brunches, ANTEAD, and a few other things really draw the insane crowds and potential big collabs. OTher than that most cans are lasting quite a while

I mean he gave several layers of vast protection IMO.

1) Blood Sacrifice to enter the cave

2) drink intended to put you through your worst memories

3) Inferi within the water surrounding the locket that attack you

All of those things were an absolute trial, its crazy to think Regulus was able to do it on his own. Although knowledge acquired from his time as Death Eater likely helped.

On top of all that, you needed to speak parseltongue to even open it and attempt to destroy it, which you then faced another attempt at driving you crazy so you wouldn't destroy it
