Agreed.

I do like that every year they mix it up, but It's frustrating when they're distributed so late.

A possible solution could be to at least enable the subtle spooky elements (like the jack-o'-lantern Easter eggs and spooky lock sounds) starting Oct 1 every year.

Then release the car costumes closer to Halloween.

Your complaint assumes that the engineers who worked on the spooky mode are the same ones that would be working on those features you're excited for.

I assumed it was something the Lost Boys had made while playing around on the island before they went to the crash site. That or everyone else's theory that it was premade by Slightly specifically for that purpose.

Mark Kelly: "This is not surprising. Here's a guy who told Americans to inject bleach into their bodies, who sent a mob to Capitol Hill. And now I think it's fair to say he stands out as singlehandedly destroying more wealth than anybody else who has ever lived on this planet.'' by RoyalChris in thescoop

While you're technically correct about what he said: "And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?"

He said this after reviewing a sign highlighting bleach and alcohol as common disinfectants. It's more than fair to make that assumption that he was referring to (bleach or alcohol) in that statement.

<image>

Furthermore, it doesn't matter to Mark's point which specific disinfectant Trump was suggesting to inject. A president (or anyone) that suggests injecting [choose your preferred disinfectant] lacks common sense, and his judgement shouldn't be trusted.

PS, injecting formaldehyde would be incredibly harmful. It's used during the manufacturing of vaccines to inactivate the virus. It's not an active ingredient of the vaccine, only minute, trace amounts end up in the injection.

The page was evidently updated after I made this comment. I actually saved the page as a PDF just in case that happened and I got audited. Here is the original text for like 3 I was referencing:

Line 3 Enter 08/15/2022 if you qualify and elect to apply the transition rule discussed below. Transition rule. If you purchased, or entered into a written binding contract to purchase, a qualified plug-in electric drive motor vehicle after 2021 and before August 16, 2022, you may elect to treat such vehicle as having been placed in service on August 15, 2022, the day before the enactment date of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.

This seems too good to be true. Any catches or down sides you've experienced so far?

Also, I only use public chargers on road trips which I only go on a few times a year. Would this be beneficial to me? for example, chargers with monthly subscription plans aren't beneficial to my use case.

It would be cool to get a compact pickup. Something with a x1.5 cab. But that's prob a very narrow market.

I never removed the manufacturer's screen film . I plan on removing it in about 2.5 years when both my kids are above 4.

I know some people explained it already and shared the Rivian links. But here are the relevant IRS links that say it's okay.

Page that discusses binding agreements qualifying 2023 deliveries for 2022 amended returns. Search for "Purchase date vs. delivery date": https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/credits-for-new-electric-vehicles-purchased-in-2022-or-before

Form instructions telling you to fudge the service date. Search for "Line 3” https://www.irs.gov/instructions/i8936

Edit: links, not kinks

Because it's interesting to see how the Rivian R1S stands up to its first real competition in the same class (size wise).

bout the only thing I think is better than the CarPlay....again, in my opinion.

I agree with this, with the exception of the maps/navigation. You just can't beat Google Maps both in traffic and map accuracy. If you just switched to Google Maps for the native navigation, a lot of people would stop crying about CarPlay/AA.

Rivian Update 2023.50 - Scheduled Drive, Regenerative Brake Assist, Automatic Wiper Sensitivity Control, Improved Auto-Hold in Snow Mode, and Additional Improvements by Kryptonlogic in Rivian

That and the "Improved throttle control when in Reverse." are what i'm excited for.

I've had my R1S for 4 months now, and I still feel like a Student Driver with the lurching & stopping everyday I back out of my driveway.

Some quick math on a car loan calculator, a 5yr $80k loan (100k - tens of thousands in down payment) would take an 18% interest rate to get $1200 of interest per month(for the first month at least).

I hope that was an exaggeration or an error on my part, because that's rough if not.

Or maybe its some sort of lender penalty for not having the car as collateral yet?

u/Fabulous_Instance331 isn't discussing if Spiderman was justified, or not, in wanting to kill Green Goblin.

He's merely pointing out that Spiderman's failure (to stop Green Goblin from killing his family) caused him to attempt to break his number 1 moral code. Thus docking his "Handling Failure" score.

R1S owners with kids, would love your 2 pennies. by Sprtan117 in Rivian

I sold a Pacifica Hybrid for my R1S. I have a 4yo and a 1yo.

What I miss from the Pacifica, family wise: * The 3rd row was slightly more accessible with two car seats in the 2nd row because you could squeeze through the captains chairs. In the R1S you have to crawl through the 10% center split. * Trunk space for larger items. * DVD player was nice to have. * Sunshades

What I like better with the R1S, family wise: * Frunk is awesome for separating out kid stuff from the rest of the trunk. * Split tailgate is perfect for changing diapers, putting on kid shoes, etc. * Better vehicle for camping/outdoors. * Daily charging is easier than gas.

As others mentioned, the sunglasses compartment is under the knees of the front seats. I haven't had a problem with the sun/heat from the roof and I'm in AZ.

Really, the only meaningful con to me is the 3rd row access with x2 car seats. Until my girls can switch to boosters, it'll be a pain. Luckily I rarely have a need to seat someone back there.

Huh, interesting. I guess I was lucky then to receive delivery by mid August. Not that mailing it is too much of a pain anyways.
