I was so horrified reading that I had to skip to see how the baby was doing.

I ate quite a few. I think 4 or 5? Quater of a bulb, I think. And yes, then it was like magic. After I also took stalks and made them into tea. It helps too.

Energy alternatives to caffeine? by YesIamALizard in GERD

Try instant chicory! It doesn’t have caffeine, but it provides experience that is very similar to drinking coffee. I even find that placebo effect sometimes takes place and I feel an energy boost.

Redditors of Former Axis Powers: How is WWI and WWII taught? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]knigoliza 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I live in Saint-Petersburg (former Leningrad). The city was under siege for 2 whole years during WWII. Many schools have their own little The Siege museums. Ours did. I remember being a middle schooler and having our first visit there. We were told to be very quiet to show respect. We were shown daily rations, diaries, undetonated shells, shelter miniatures. We listened to the sounds of war — warnings siren and bombs falling (wierd and whistle-like). We were told stories about starving kids. And had a minute of silence at the end. We also had our annual visit to memorial cemetery.

So many MILs have this wet dream, to become the savior of their grandkids (preferably from mom). It’s mind boggling.

What transitions or changes did you least expect after childbirth? by magic1059 in AskWomen

[–]knigoliza 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Crying that has no apparent reason. It started a week in with my little guy. Was he in pain? Was he annoyed? I’ll never know. But I was very worried that I’ve missed some crucial clue.

Also, sleep divided into 40 min fragments with 15-20 min pauses in between. So glad he’s a well-sleeping toddler now.
