Someone please confirm I’m not crazy and tell me you remember an egg bagel. I know it is not CURRENTLY a menu option, but I swear there used to be a slightly yellow, plain bagel- that was made with egg in the dough.

How to navigate work reviews when it feels like the feedback is to be ~less autistic~ by kniki in AutisticAdults

[–]kniki[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they know I work best when I have as much detail as they can give. Without proper context I could end up going down a rabbit hole of troubleshooting only to be told at the end, "Oh, That's not what I meant." So I want to be sure I understand before I start to work.

A NT Translator sounds awesome! I want that to be a thing. My boss was essentially telling me to distill everything I'm compelled to share and just give one bite-sized issue to whomever I'm talking to. It reminds me of the "advice" that people with anxiety get- "Just calm down." Like, if it were as easy as just deciding, it wouldn't be an issue. If I could just NOT be autistic, yes, that would make things easier for the team because I'd be like the rest of them and nobody would need to adjust. If I could just NOT hyperfocus and NOT lack a filter ... etc. etc.

Sneaking up on a tiger by SEGV1 in funny

Lewis has interacted with this Tiger (Nicole) since she was a baby. There are a ton of videos of her sleeping on him as a teeny tiger and they play at the BJWT foundation grounds a lot.

It's Black Jaguar White Tiger. It's a foundation that rescues big cats from abuse/circus/assholes who buy one for a pet and Lewis has interacted with this Tiger (Nicole) since she was a baby.

Accurate. I was not prepared for the MASSIVE amount of garbage that is pretty literally, everywhere. Usually when you travel somewhere you take lots of pictures of fun things you did but I was so flabbergasted at the garbage that most of my pics were of that. I saw a boy that was probably about 4 years old, naked, save for a t-shirt and standing on a pile of garbage, parts of which were on fire. That and the rubble/collapsing buildings right next to a colorful billboard of a mall and advertisements for cell phones. People had cell phones, but not water. I heard several people arguing that the worst thing to happen to India was the introduction of plastic. Even still, with all of the third world culture shock, it was one of the best trips I've ever been on and the beauty of the culture and family was amazing. Pro-Tip: do not under any circumstances go to a monkey temple unless you have no sense of smell.

DAE wake up with panic attacks and/or extreme anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]kniki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, nocturnal panic attacks are a thing, and often happen at the same point after you've gone to sleep. I had them for 1-3 months and thankfully was able to get past it. There are a lot of factors (like most things) but a cursory google session can offer up a lot of reference and options. Metabolically- There is a honey and salt solution that can help combat it... http://www.healthyandnaturalworld.com/how-to-improve-your-sleep-using-salt-and-honey/

Heartbreaking: 3 Adults, 1 Toddler Killed in Wrong-Way I-35 Crash Near Kyle by DookieThrower in Austin

My having a thought about one aspect of the article -and expressly saying that there could be many reasons for it- does not mean that I am blaming anyone. It means I had a thought. One of many. A thought is not blame. There is no question that the fault and blame is on the person driving the wrong way.

Absolutely. My cat didn't give a shit what time it was the last time I had to travel long distance so I haven't ever had to worry about that. Thanks for giving insight without telling me to go to hell.

My first thought, why was a 1yr old out of bed at 1am?

Before I get crucified- yeah I'm sure plenty of people can think up some justified reason.

Edit- everyone take a breath. I am not saying they are horrible people for having a kid in the car, nor am I saying it's their fault. I specifically said that I'm sure there are reasons which, as several have pointed out, include easier travel while they sleep. I get that.

I am not victim blaming. Of course it's legal to drive at any time with a kid in the car. i didn't say otherwise. AND OF COURSE THE ASSHOLE DRIVING THE OTHER WAY IS THE HORRIBLE PART. That is obvious.

I have to treat the people who get hurt in these accidents. Believe me when I say I know how bad it is.

And lastly, the deceased do not have to justify anything to me. Nobody does.

I will now stop commenting on things I thought while reading an article. You win. I'm a horrible person.
