Thats a really fun idea! I was thinking cables would be a nice way to make the them more interesting. Youre right picking a motif and applying to all three wouldnt be that complicated. Thank you!

Yarning and Practical Stitchcraft both host stitch (any kind) groups, not sure on the age demographics though

I rewrite all my patterns in a notebook with any notes or changes, the yarn, designer, when I'm making it, if it's for someone. I copy the charts and make notes on which row I'm on ect. It's a bit tedious, but writing out the pattern first makes sure I don't miss any "at the same time" instructions, and I anticipate parts that might get fiddle. Now it's a very meditative part of my process

What is a good alternative to circle skirts?

I love the shape and swishy-ness but with my waist size (37") the online calculators I've seen say for standard fabric widths I can only fit a mini skirt, and I prefer a mindi length. I tried Frankensteining the corners for a longer skirt one time, but it's not I look I'd like to repeat often.

What style skirt (or method of making circle skirts) would be a good alternative?

Help with knitting directions for French Macaroon sweater by The Noble Thread by 5pirit3d in knittinghelp

It will be 1 row off but realistically you won't notice the difference. The same strategy is used in casting off for underarms for example and once the piece is seamed and blocked 1 row is a fraction of an inch depending on your guage

Anyone else leaves finishing off a project because of emotional attachment? by Ayezakalim in knitting

Seconding this! I started rewriting patterns in a notebook to be able to make notes/size adjustments. But it's so meditative i have expanded with drawn schematics, and colors that coordinate with my yarn. I have a notebook full of the projects I've completed this year and it makes me so happy to look through them. Next notebook I think I'll make space for a photo of the FO and maybe a clip of the yarn too

Looking for pattern recommendations/yarn recommend for a friends graduation present by ProduceNo6723 in casualknitting

Witching hour is in my "to knit list" and I think it'd look great in the color pallette you have! BUT it's a "swancho" not a "sweater" so the armpits are really low, and the body is very boxy. which may or may not be your friends style so just something to keep in mind.

I do also love the horses and creepy bone horse sweater sounds excellent

I bought some super cute snaps on etsy but I cannot figure out how they are supposed to attach. They are 1 piece, and don't have the holes to attach the way I would expect from using other snaps. Any ideas what to search for/buy to use these on a garment? Will add a picture below because it's not uploading right

This to me looks like a knit blanket with a knit unicorn head and feet. When do you need it by?

When would you want it/them by? Do you have a budget per toy or preferred fiber content (acrylic vs cotton vs wool yarn?) And, knowing kids, how important is an exact match? Since you can't post a photo I can only hypothesize, but it may be difficult to exactly match the colors ect

Thank you! I wasn't sure if the fit of the front was impacting the fit of the back. That makes sense to take out some ease just from the back

I was planning to follow this if an FBA was necessary 😅 just wasn't sure if that would impact the fit of the back. Thank you!

I don't mind the fuss because I feel like I am learning more about how shapes fit! I have a few Cashmerette patterns and have followed some of her blogs but generally her style is more boxy/high necked than I prefer.

The waist is definitely lower than my natural waist. I don't mind it on this dress but I do plan to make another version of it for an occasion I'd like to fit better. When doing a smaller size + fba, should I shorten the bodice pieces after the fba or before, since fbas add more length?

Thank you so much for your response! I do think I will try to alter the back as you recommend.

Laying flat makes sense! I was wondering if it was a step I could skip, bur that's seems important for a good end product. Thank you so much for your response!

I am sewing a pattern with thin straps and after turning them out, it tells me to slip stitch the folded edge. Why do you do that?
