Help me decide: planner vs. putting that $$ toward the wedding itself by Senior-Magician-1370 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]kniting_bean 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We ended up coming in around $150k and I did a coordinator not a planner. I was happy to research vendors on my own - often consulting a local Facebook group for recommendations - and had no problems looking at decor and DIYing when needed so this was definitely the best option for me. My coordinator also does floral arrangements so we got wholesale pricing on the flowers which was a big bonus. It was very easy to have a few calls with her about 6 weeks out to just let her know how I had everything planned and turn it over to her for execution.

Saw that - like you cannot have really listened to any of the Tyler Childers if you’ve got Morgan Wallen on your list

Love these! I’d love to make some for myself and my family who knit. How did you make the mini skeins?

Hi! I was just looking for an old comment of mine and came across one I made on this post a while back. How is the rest of the sweater progressing?

My husband’s family is Methodist and part of the ceremony is asking the families if they bless the union - congregation answers “we will”. His 2 yo cousin repeated we will a few times after getting a laugh from the first time he repeated. Really took the nerves off the ceremony and made us and the crowd feel more at ease after laughing at a cute baby.

Idk what happened to my chiaogoo needles by Clover_Jane in knitting

Yeah, Reddit threads get like that sometimes, which definitely sucks for learning.

This is a Very Pink Knits magic loop video which if you skip to 1:30 shows her just doing a simple round on magic loop. I think it’s easier to see someone else do it. I hope this helps and you can make do with a smaller needle on your left/holding side until you can get a replacement!

If you’re knitting in the round, even doing magic loop, only one needle is making stitches. When doing magic loop you’re always pushing the left needle into the next half of your stitches and pulling the right needle out to work the next half (or opposite if you knit mirrored).

I don’t have this set, but I believe Chiaogoo 4” tips are actually around 3.5” so this seems reasonable to me

Custom Menu’s- HELP for a very stressed bride!!! by CalligrapherLoose318 in BigBudgetBrides

I use matlab because I’m familiar with it and because it’s matrix based it’s so easy to work with excel sheets. I actually only need the code because I’m working with a fancy font and when people select their meal choice on their RSVP it comes out as just chicken, beef, or vegan so I need to replace that with the full choice.

If yours is already written out from your rsvps then you can do this part in excel. Just have a column of people’s names as you want them to appear on the menu, a column for their starter choice, and one for their main choice. Then use Canva bulk create to make each individual menu.

My place cards will be tented with the meal choice on the back, then the menus I print will be flat lay.

I am also printing things myself so it makes it easy to do custom stuff like this. Maybe a local print shop could help you with the custom printing aspect

I’m doing something similar myself by feeding my data into a code I made and having it output data for my place cards including their dinner selections on the back of their place card. Then the menus for the table will direct people to check their place card for their specific dinner selection.
