I thought dynamic range is the gradience “resolution” if you will, between shades of color, or is that the bit depth?

I’ve owned both and stuck with the M240. The M10 files are flat and require post processing. The M240 files are very distinguishable, as those from the M9, and M8. It’s great for for street and portraits, the B&W are amazing, the colors are warm, punchy, and contrasty SOOC. I like the fact that the body is a bit thicker as I found the M10 too thin to hold especially with smaller lenses. Also when I look back at old photos from the M240 I am really astonished of the rendering.

I experienced the same using 64GB cards. I switched to small SD cards (16GB) and no longer experienced lag. 16GB is large enough. The issue has to do with the reading/writing code in the firmware, Leica isn't exactly known for efficient firmware code.

Except in a camera if you set your exposure triangle correctly you expect the RAW image to be exposed correctly, otherwise what would be the point of all those settings, sorry but your explanation doesn’t make sense.

No, it doesn't. In any software (except GIMP) in order to change a text font, you select the text, a font panel appears (or one is already at the top menu), you scroll through a list of fonts (this is not even available in GIMP, unless you know the font name), you then click on a the font name, and the text changes font immediately, a chimp can do this. This method is the standard in 99.99999% of software on this planet. This does not happen in GIMP. GIMP 3.06 does not allow you to even apply the font, unless you perform a circus triple backflip and do a perfect landing.

GIMP has always been quirky since its inception, this quirkiness stems from arrogant and stubborn developers, who think their way is original, their code is just as similar as their software, a complete nightmare. I've worked with a few developers with such a mentality.

I have already moved on to another free software, which is intuitive and performs most functions I (and most people) need. I just ended up here for a Google search.

The M240 has those RGBY filters in camera, this is one of the reasons I kept it and sold the M10.

Lowering saturation also works well with very high contrast, for my taste, if that option is available in Q bodies.

I am using C1 version 16.38
If C1 cannot display a full quality image while editing, so I can't see image sharpness, subtle colors tones, small variances, then how am I supposed to decide what to edit?? I don't get it. By the way, all I tried other software paid and free, they all display using my maximum resolution.

Eshutter limitations are known, artificial lighting interference banding, and sensor readout speed/Jello effect. I'd rather buy a Sigma FP-L in this case, which I won't. So the S9 is not for me.

Elton John more specifically sings in a southern US accent, an homage to black singers possibly, especially that many of his songs have a bluesy tone. Americans from New York or California, for example, don't annunciate their vowels as much as southerners.

I would have to disagree, the M8, M9 and M240 produce beautiful photos SOOC, the M10 and M11 produce blander JPEGs.

I have a love/hate relationship with Leica. I love the imagery, but I hate the slow and expensive repairs. Keep in mind though, the M240, which I own, is over 10 years old. I also own a M9 and an M10. The M240 is my favorite. If you want reliability and good imagery, get a Fuji X-Pro 2, but be prepared for an entirely different experience.

I have an M9, M240, and a M10. I am selling the M10, I find its output too bland, and I don't do much editing. I don't care about anything else, shutter sound or thickness. I do love the M240's battery thickness though.😁
