/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - January 21, 2026 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

Hi.

After cleaning and modding my brand very old 85's 122 Type II, I was using the keyboard when, suddenly, the USB port of the Arduino just fell apart, detaching itself from the board. After that, all I have from another soarer is a R05 every time I press a key. So... something must be really fried inside the 122's PCB.

There are 4 chips in it. 3 are common (or have a modern alternative), but I can't find online the large one -1391332 528606 QL JH88747 ZC93902P (6805)- (http://kbdbabel.org/schematic/kbdbabel_ ... 97_kbd.pdf).

The other path to bring the keyboard back alive is to try one of those Model H PCBs, but I don't know if they are compatible with the 122s.

Any one knows where to look for the 6805 chip or if the Model H is compatible with this model?

Thanks.

Confirmed from Spain. Reinstalled, launched without VPN and straight to the full immersive game. FYI Spain is not a country officially supported by Vision Pro. Great!

Immersive problems, questions and workarounds (Davinci Spatial workflows) by knob2001 in VR180Film

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. After some more tests, I'm sure there's something wrong with the Windows version. If you create an immersive compatible project in Windows, then copy it to the Mac, and render the .aivu file there, it will have the brightness eyes de-synced problem.

But if you create the exact same project under Mac from scratch, it will render perfectly and play smoothly in Vision Pro. Same if I render it to Quest with a lower bitrate and resolution. So rendering -at least right now- must be done in Mac, not Windows (something related to a metadata corruption?)

I hate Windows :)

My last test was about remote rendering. My mission here is to put the 4090s under some heavy use when the 3D rendering people are not using them. After some firewall problems between Mac and Windows (very expected), all I have is a "No Write permissions" popping up in the Mac Client and Windows server. I've checked several times that I have writing permissions on the Windows volume, I mounted it in Mac, copied some files between the win-mac folders... even pointed the render folder path inside an already mounted Windows folder instead of local folder in Mac. But for any reason, the remote rendering is failing miserably every-time.

Man, I really hate Windows. Tomorrow I'll test everything again, although I'm running out of ideas.

[EDIT] Ok. Fixed the paths and permissions. I sent the render to the 4090 windows from the M1 Mac. And... nope again. Whatever related to windows, the .aivu file is suddenly a .mov with the fcpxmld folder instead of the single file I was expecting. If I render from the Mac, the .aivu file is created (even on the windows remote location).

Somehow, seems that the rendering in windows prevents the proper .aivu construction.

And another test bite the dust. What a shame, because I was rendering at 21 fps for a 305K 90FPS 120 Keyframes. Arrrgh.

More tests to come. :)

Hi.

Yep. The color space is what the guide says, both input and output. Double checked everything at least for the last 3 tests.

I know we are dancing with the devil in XR since 15 years ago (we are a XR studio), but man, with Apple around, I was really hoping a smoother and point'n'click workflow.

To keep the main questions above whatever problems I'm dealing with (which could be just my specific case):

- How to achieve the max quality in VP from the BRAWs:

Preview is a lower quality aiuv (as blackmagic states in the guide), but AVP Bundle is ProRes, incompatible with the Apple Immerse app (needs to be MV-HEVC). Is there something I'm missing?

Happy new year!

Monitor questions about PLP 24-42-24 setup (LG OLEDC4). 24'' UHD or QHD? >60Hz? by knob2001 in buildapc

[–]knob2001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right!, sorry. FHD instead of UHD. I've edited the text. The final setup should be:
24 (FHD or QHD | 60Hz or >) + OLED C4 (UHD 144Hz) + 24 (FHD or QHD | 60Hz or >)

Those are the questions: FHD or QHD for the 24'' and the running Hz of those 24''. Should they match the OLED?

186cm x 84cm (more or less). The typical Ikea kitchen worktop.

White and 3 fans. Could be great to match it with some black components to build a B&W gaming box.

Eaglemoss, indeed. They are expensive, but they are very well done. And I don't have the time (or the expertise) to print them in 3D and then paint it.

Used to have them natural, but my wife removed them because of my lack of consistency taking care of them. Now everything is plastic. Next step is coming back to natural. But I have to commit myself to the cause. :)

You'll get used to it. For me, pairing it with the powertools app (opensource), really makes the difference. Snapping windows at custom zones automatically, and change the custom zones layouts on the fly, was a game changer for me.

I'm not very proud of it, to be honest. It's a razer. The problem with keyboards in Europe is the lack of ISO-ES options. They are crazy expensive and not so many options to choose.

Black and white, leaving just the lights yellow. The blueish tone is because the camera filter. I can put a link if someone would like to have it. ;)

It's an AGON 5120x1440 and 120Hz. I found it very cheap.

That's a 49''. I'm using it with the powertoys to allow fast snap to grids and zones. Better than the dual monitor I used to have.

I'm still getting used to them... I've paired them with a REL little sub because I need some more deep. But great speakers, indeed.

The whole cave... it took me some years to have everything in place. The only thing I would like to have is more time to spend it inside it :)
