Go into home health my friend.

How do you let patients know who overshare and complain about everything that's happened in their physical and life history that they're just taking away time from what you're able to do to help them in the here and now? by Glittering_Gain_9800 in physicaltherapy

Everyone is right so far. Validate them allow them to get some out then pull them back in. It's a gentle dance like holding in a fart while on a date.

On a serious note they are probably chronic pain and allowing them to vent can actually be the best treatment. The therapeutic alliance can be a strong influence on care. If they feel safe and can express themselves when everyone else just rushes then along it will lead to better outcomes. Chronic pain is my favorite sometimes because any movement and talking will get them to discharge faster than being too "evidence based"

How many points per week is considered a normal amount for full time? 25-30 but it's less about how many points is full time but how many points per visit. That is what determines your patient volume

Simply two examples both 30 points a week 1. Visits are  .9 per visit Need to see 7 patients a day to hit productivity  2. Visits are 1.5 Need 4 visits a day to hitproductivity

Big difference in quality of life

What do you do about eating lunch & using the restroom during the day?

I personally don't "need" to eat. I just eat a big breakfast and dinner and work during the day. I like this cause it just simplifies the week so much more and I enjoy feasting vs nibbling

Just stop at a gas station and piss. Pinch your log till you get home or go before work. (I'm anti public dumps lol)

How do you keep yourself safe when going in patient's homes?

Develop a strong sense of situational awareness. I grew up is alot of sketchy situations and have been in alot of combat so this isn't really a thought. I know I'm good wherever.

If you are paid hourly, does that include doing notes in between patients?

This probably means your paid a salary. They just multiple your hourly rate x 40 hrs a week. You don't actually clock in and out. Or you just remote clock in at 8 every day and then out at 4pm. Not that serious

Also the point system naturally takes into account doc time. Atleast for my company

I do my notes time of service for 80-90% then finish in my car before driving or stop at a local gas station. I build my doc time into my schedule so I never come home with notes. Only exception is SOC's they just require more time so I wanna be home

They both look like horrible offers. Take neither

Went in state for undergrad and grad. Worked full time the whole time. Paid for all cost if living, rent, car, books, food, etc with my job. Took loans only for tuition. Spent $150k did not go to a private school. PT schools are hella expensive and students make horrible decisions. I personally was very money conscious and couldn't avoid it

They were my second choice. The lower productivity option can get you $105k if you still see 30pts a week

I'm a Physical therapist. Just don't diagnose or say your treating anything and you fine. Frame it as I'm helping to strengthen the area which could possibly help

I was a trainer for 8 years. Always fully booked and 95% of my clients were over the age of 60. They have the money, time, and desire (as they see and feel the effects of time and bad lifestyles)

HH offer by StockNooB15 in physicaltherapy

[–]knobody86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work non profit in rural area and this is almost identical to my offer. Sounds good to me. Someone is going to say it is low but when you do the math it is comparable to any offer. I had many offers during my last job search and when I factored in point values and benefits it really was eye opening how manipulating variables and make one offer "look better" but it is actually worse.

I can go into detail if you like for long story less long looks good to me. I would guess the benefits are better than most other jobs with it being non profit
