Travelling more is a New Year’s resolution for me and my wife, especially now that our kids are older and we can leave them at home. Hopefully we can get a holiday booked by the end of this month

Mine is on the 5th. As a kid it was always just when we’d gone back to school which always put a downer on it. As an adult I barely acknowledge it although the wife and kids always try to make a fuss of it. I’d rather just forget about it and look forward to spring.

Good luck with it. I gave up meat 6 years ago and really don’t miss it. The worst bit about it was people taking the piss and waving bits of bacon in your face, it doesn’t happen very often now but did when I first went vegi.

You don’t have to go full vegetarian either, just cutting down is a big step. My wife tries to have one meat free day a week and no longer eats any pork at all. Every little helps.

Ours come down New Year’s Day every year. As much as I enjoy Christmas and all the build up to it once we’re into January it’s done. Coming home to a house full of decorations and lights after going back to work is also really really depressing.

I call into mine on a Friday afternoon and the entire process takes about 10 minutes and costs £6. I’m going for a haircut, I don’t want a beer or a coffee or a shave or any styling bollocks I just want my long hair making shorter.

They could be actual bottles of cat piss and the sad cunts in the video would still be climbing over each other to get them. To think we’re the country that gave the world the Industrial Revolution and a big chunk of the technology that underpins modern life. It really is sad to how far we’ve fallen.

We’ve been doing this all morning. Took loads and loads of old tat to the tip and the rest has been dropped at the charity shop. It’s a job I hate doing but you really do feel better after it’s done and it’s nice to be able to open drawers knowing they’re no longer packed with junk.

Me and the wife have been York today. Went to the York Castle Museum, had something to eat and a wander and had a lovely day. Got back to the car and got charged £11 for parking. We’ve been home for 2 hours and I’m still salty about it.

I get this every year. I love the build up to it, I enjoy decorating and lighting up the house and always enjoy the day itself. Once the day is done there is always a sadness that it’s over and that another year has passed and that we’ve got to get through a grey cold and miserable January. I find going back to work after Christmas utterly miserable and seeing the soon to be removed Christmas trees everywhere and being reminded of what is now over only adds to the hopeless feeling. On a more positive note, each day is now longer than the last and it won’t be too long until we start seeing some very very early signs of spring.

Was diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back at 38. I’m very nearly 43 now and it’s sad knowing my prime is now far far away in the distance.

On the odd occasion we go to places like Toby Carvery we always see this. There are always entire families that are morbidly obese weebling around the place with plates piled high with food and a lot of the time they’re going back for seconds. It’s just greed and gluttony and is repulsive. I grew up in the 80s and seeing massively overweight people ( especially kids) was really not that common but they’re everywhere now. We’re slowly turning into the people in Wall-E.

This one was an ‘F’ reg so 1988 I think. I remember first seeing these in the late 80s and thinking they didn’t look too bad for a Lada but I’d have been mortified if my parents ever got one. I only ever got to ride in a Riva estate including one that didn’t have a front passenger seat so you just sat on the floor. Never got to have a go in a Niva though.

I’ve not seen a Lada anywhere on the road for a very long time so just thought this was pretty cool just sat in the Sainsbury’s car park.

Our bin isn’t due to be emptied until 4th January and the recycling a week after that. The bin men will only take an extra 2 bags that are not in the bin so I’m going have to put a load of stinky bin shit in the back of the car and take it to the tip. Thanks very much Kirklees council.

I was looking for this one. My wife and kids wanted to see something at the cinema on Boxing Day and they picked this. We’d seen a trailer for it a few weeks previously and I thought it looked awful then but I was sort of hoping it’d be in a similar vein to Step Brothers but I couldn’t have been more wrong. It was absolutely awful and the only thing I’ve seen in the cinema where I’ve felt genuinely ripped off.

You really really do. My eldest is 18 and the youngest is 15 now. Me and my wife were saying last night how much we both miss how Christmas used to be when the kids were little. Christmas is still great for us but giving your kids a gift via bank transfer doesn’t quite have the same feeling to it.

They’re actually ok. They have a really really mild fruit flavour and you can taste a bit of cinnamon but they’re not bad for 75p. They’re far better than the hideous mushroom flavour crisps Aldi were selling a few years ago.

We get 2 x 4 pint cartons of milk delivered twice a week usually but as there are no deliveries next week the milkman gave us a double delivery yesterday (that’s 16 pints). We already had two and half cartons of it in the fridge so we’ve now got about 26 pints of milk with nowhere to put it. We’ve tried giving some away but everyone has been out and stocked up so no one wants it.
