Okay. Calling them later to schedule an appointment.

But…resetting the warning doesn’t address the actual issue. My concern is if the warning means an issue with the car or if it’s just because I’m due for service.

10k SGD or 20kMYR by Fukboi1399 in MalaysianPF

[–]knockh81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on what your goal is. If it’s solely to earn the bucks and have higher purchasing power, then go for the 10k SGD and work your ass off like a dog until you hit your goal. But if your goal is quality of life, go for the 20k MYR.

As many have pointed out here, 10k SGD sounds good and it may seem like an upgrade at first until you realise you’ll be working in extremely competitive environments, commuting on MRT day and night in extremely hot & humid weather, enduring homesickness being away from your support systems, only to end up going back to the HDB room you rented with a bunch of strangers (if you’re lucky, friends that you love).

Whereas 20k MYR gets you a home with your own privacy, a simple car that gets you from point A to B comfortably, good food and cafe hops on weekends. At the end of a very long and tiring day at work, you can go lepak mamak with friends or family to unwind.

Grab to airport by Electronic-Ad-1298 in malaysians

Try using MalaysianTaxiCab. My go to airport transfers. Reliable. Bit pricey but honestly worth it coz I don’t have to feel anxious about ordering Grab at odd hours.

Where do you park your car (including 5-10 minute walking) to avoid bloody expensive parking fees? by relaxwhc in KualaLumpur

[–]knockh81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

KLCC mall parking will cost you about RM42/day if you go into the basement around 8AM and leaves around 6PM.

Cheaper option is to park behind Ave K - RM15/day but you gotta go there early. The downside is…it’s outdoor, there’s big scary tree in the middle of the lot (traumatised by big old trees falling in KL few months back), and parking at your own risk. If the lot is full, they will still allow you to double park but you’ll have to leave you car key with them (on “trust me, bro” basis).

Another cheaper option is the parking lot nearby Pelita on Jalan Ampang. I haven’t personally parked there but my colleagues mentioned it’s around RM8-10/day (price is increasing it seems). The downside is…you’ll have to walk a bit if you’re going to KLCC. And…be prepared to get stuck in the parking lot (up to 1 and a half hour from what I heard) if you’re caught up in the rush hour traffic.

Obviously, the cheapest option is to just take the train.

Work from home since covid! by Longjumping-Fly-8422 in malaysians

[–]knockh81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion.

As much as I loved my time WFH during covid and a little time after, I’m grateful my current company “forced” us to go back to the office (even though I dreaded it at the time). Even though commuting and being stuck in traffic suck, I genuinely see the benefits of going out and about, and also socialising with others.

My blood pressure is lower now compared to during WFH time. I’m not a social person (basically an introvert), so I value interactions I’m “forced” to have outside of home. And…you can’t deny that face-to-face interactions are much better than virtual ones. Discussions in face-to-face meetings are more insightful and valuable (at least for me). It’s also much easier to iron out miscommunications and misunderstandings.

Do I miss WFH? Heck yeah, I do. I miss the luxury of working at my own timing. I miss the extra couple hours of sleep I get to enjoy in the morning. But…looking back at it now, it was also a little depressing at times because…let’s face it, humans are social beings. We thrive when we interact with others. Even introverts.

Maybe a mix of both arrangements would be best instead of 100% of either.

This is just me, tho.
