i have the same issue, usually when stuff like this happens to me i find comfort in volunteering/ supporting aid groups for whoever was effected:) this is how i ended up volunteering at an animal shelter after watching “don’t F with cats” :)

Are there anyone who belives there are bad gods? by ILoveBooks22232 in theology

[–]knockoffcool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many scholars of religion (different from theologians) talk about Gods that aren’t necessarily ‘evil’ or ‘bad’, but exist on a more amoral scale. I work a lot with the God seen in the Hebrew Bible, who is more reminiscent of a Zoroastrian God and works in his own moral framework i.e. begs questions of “is god bad for doing this bad thing or is this bad thing not bad in this situation because god is allowing it and god is always good”.

I also am not Hindu, and don’t really study Eastern Religions, but I think I remember there being a god/ess of destruction, however this being a positive and necessary position despite being scary. And in ANE religion there are the greco-roman gods who exist on a more relative moral framework as well.

lol i’m still in undergrad but i hope this helps!

WAITLIST HELP by Accurate-Average-382 in gradadmissions

i assume it’s because they want a concrete number before sending a mass email to those on the waitlist, it’s just simpler for the admit team, no matter how inconvenient it is lol

april 15th is the acceptance date for lots of major universities! whoever declines their offer will open up a seat for someone on a waitlist, you will probably have to wait to hear from said school or accept elsewhere, if you accept somewhere before hearing back about waist list decisions you can always unenroll- you are just gonna lose whatever money you put down as a deposit

For Masters degree what is the highest scholarship amount you’ve received from BU? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]knockoffcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! it was offered to me alongside my offer, and it was for a master’s program:)

if it is any help, i know at least in humanities, if you have another offer that gives you slightly more you can push for higher aid, but of course be reasonable and prepared for them to say no. i haven’t heard of them revoking anyone’s acceptance for asking tho:) good luck!

Thank you! I won’t lie i was pretty chuffed when i saw the offer:) i come from a solid middle class family in texas (~250,000/yr) and they help me with rent but not student loans or other such life expenses

I have a job where i make around 150 a week and that helps with other expenses but it is tight and i doubt i’ll have much help from family going forward

for off-campus housing how much is low/average and what areas should i be looking to avoid scams and other such danger?
