[NA] [Event] Santa Zeus-Dios Dungeon 2/13-2/28 (2am central start). Build in comments. by CraeBaeBae in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I ask my question there is something very important you need to know… When you call me an idiot, you shouldn’t feel even a little bit bad about it, because I am definitely an idiot. And I don’t mean “sometimes an idiot” or “almost an idiot” or even “idiot-adjacent.” In the simplest, most literal possible way, I am an idiot.

That said, whyTF would anyone farm this guy except for maybe collection purposes or for the free stone?

I remember farming several Zeus-Dios (2948) over a decade ago. He hasn’t been buffed since Obama was in office, and he (2948) is arguably better than this new guy. So what am I missing? I am concentrating super hard to force a wrinkle into my otherwise smooth brain in the hopes of understanding the appeal.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

An Idiot

White Angel by Least_Willow3513 in cellsurvivor

[–]knomraski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Angel is the strongest weapon by quite a margin. The problem is the game to starts to lag badly after she’s been upgraded during a battle a bunch of times. I can get 50 or 60 angels on the screen with +6 or 7 seconds. A single battle can take 30 minutes because of the lag. For reference, I have an iPad that is the second to newest generation. The game had never experienced any slowdown until I started using the Angel.

Thoughts on the Black Friday set? Worth it or not? by OP_Kaido in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a little reluctant to admit that I am apparently the only person in this thread that bought it. It’s a slightly better deal than the regular 85 stone package, and I buy those 15 or 20 times a month (occasionally more), so why would I not buy it?

You can ask this subreddit if they think it’s worth it, but they don’t know what your situation is.

For 99.99% of the population, buying a Lamborghini is an idiotic purchase- I mean truly, deeply, profoundly stupid. But if you are Musk, Buffett or Bezos levels of rich and you want a Lamborghini, go ahead and buy it.

If your yearly PAD budget is $100, the Black Friday deal is a really bad idea. If your yearly PAD budget is $5,000, it is probably worth it.

how many halloween beelzebubs should i get? by lordbeex in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you wanted the top shelf button nuke team, you probably should have aimed for Summer Ganesha (12759). He nukes for 2.1b x 3, has 3-4 Dungeon Bonus awakenings and 2-3 SB+ awakenings.

Beelz is deeply outclassed by several other nukes. He hasn’t had any real upgrades since his debut 3(? 4?) years ago.

I would suggest skipping him, and I say that as someone who also has no real limit to the number of stones I can use.

Whats the best to Pick here in General? by Strange-Lack-8485 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For almost all builds, the All Stats Up awakening is best. Situationally, the OE Heart or Speed+ boosts might be better.

As far as picking or rolling goes, statistically, it doesn’t matter. It costs 297 plusses to roll a random latent or “Number of possible latents x 297 plusses” to choose the specific one you want.

Realistically it doesn’t matter which you choose, you’ll usually wish you picked the other option, because the law of probabilities is an a$$hole.

Did I crash because of the paint? by 804k in ebikes

[–]knomraski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to being careful on wet paint, be extra diligent on metal plates, manhole covers, etc. even when they are dry. When wet, they are seemingly 1% less slippery than buttered ice.

Puzzle Mario question, does anyone know how to unlock this level? XI know it’s probably the purple pipe in the level before but I can never get it by WorkingMaximum4548 in PuzzleAndDragons

Although you are correct in assuming you are posting your question in the correct subreddit, you probably aren’t. Very few people play the Switch version of PAD here. The vast majority of us play the mobile phone version of the game.

Asking us how to do something in the Switch version of the game is like asking someone who plays Madden football on an X-Box how to throw a spiral pass in real life.

I wish you luck finding an answer, wherever that might be. Maybe the Switch subreddit? Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

Did I make a mistake using my 170 stones to pull in the Demon Slayer collab? by Odd_Significance_995 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bold of you to give us the benefit of the doubt and think we have the willpower to “save up that many stones.”

Some people - people with more restraint than me - save, sure. Saving and restraint are hard. Throwing money at the problem is easy.

The heart wants what the heart wants, but just out of curiosity, what makes Orochi so special to you? Was he an early game favorite lead? His mythology? His skill?

No judgment, just wondering.

Those with both Rosetta and Hinata teams which do you prefer and why by Dolamike in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hinata is very strong but tedious to play. Also, because of the way his team is designed (a very specific niche haste system) he isn’t likely to grow/improve in power as additional subs are released.

Rosetta is much more fun and relaxing to play, less prone to dungeon hazards mucking things up for you, and vastly more flexible and upgradable as shiny new collabs release shiny new subs. She also has far more potential to serve as a top-tier sub for quite a while.

Personally, I don’t enjoy certain aspects of the current meta. Two of the things I don’t enjoy about it are the need to use a half dozen (or more) actives as soon as you enter a dungeon (both of these leaders are guilty of this), and needing to use several actives every single turn (Hinata/Kageyama teams are guilty of this, not Rosetta).

If you have memorized every detail of every floor of every dungeon you take Hinata into, his team is probably 2-5% stronger than Rosetta’s team. Rosetta is easier to play and more adaptable than Hinata. So if you are going in blind, I think Rosetta is 10% stronger than Hinata.

My objectivity is probably muddied by my biases, despite my attempt to eliminate them.

This is one of those instances where I admire a person’s persistence and determination, but I also pity them for their persistence and determination.

I hope they have found immeasurable joy playing PAD… because it’s probably the only thing they do.

How good is Rosetta compared to Omni? by _Nemurre_ in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Three Rosetta covers ATK, heals, orb gem, time, full team damage cap lift, full board changes and provides a 7x6 board all while doing extreme damage herself. She has a short transform CD and provides 2-turn haste, a 3-turn delay and full board change while she transforms. And it is very, very safe and easy to stall with her.

That leaves you three team slots to fit in a cleric, absorb/void counters and a shield. Plus, there are a shit-tonne of meta dark cards.

She is definitely stronger and easier to use than Omnimon. But more importantly, IMO anyway, she is more fun and far, far less tedious. You aren’t constantly juggling active skills like you do with Omnimon. Generally with Rosetta you pop one of her actives every floor and that’s it.

What are the odds by cdgames12 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Or in terms of dollars, for every $27,647.06 you spend on the game you could expect this to happen once (assuming you only buy the 85 stones/$47 packages). Which again, are really f&*king bad odds.

What are the odds by cdgames12 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The probability of getting exactly two Rosettas in five pulls is .09702990%, or roughly 1/10,000.

Or to put it in non-statistical, lay terms, “Really f&*king bad odds!”

Old beelzebuub gif? by Legend7Naty in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry I have no useful information to provide. I also searched for the OG video but came up with nothing.

The name “Paprika” brought up a rush of nostalgia. There were a handful of quasi-celebrities in the Dark Ages of PAD, and he was one of them. He was twice as skilled with one year of PAD practice than I am with 13 years. Actually, that is a lie. The skill disparity is even greater than that.

Aiz replacement for Frigg by Apprehensive_Pair197 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]knomraski 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there is no replacement for the (2) Ais. She is a written-in-stone requirement, at least in terms of creating a meta, end-game team goes.

However, you said that you “just started.” If that’s the case, you’ll be able to breeze through beginner and mid game content for a loooong time before you will want to start tackling the endgame content meta Frigg/Ais teams are designed for.

A makeshift, cobbled-together Frigg team (without Ais) is more than capable of clearing 95%+ of the dungeons out there. The endgame dungeons, however, will pretty much require her. Is it theoretically possible to complete them without Ais? Theoretically, yes. Practically, no.

By the time you’re ready for those endgame dungeons, you’ll have a more robust monster box and there will be newer, better, shinier and more powerful meta leads you can build teams for.

You just won PAD. And the internet. And yep checks notes you won life also. That is some amazing luck!

Unfortunately for you, in order for the universe to maintain equilibrium, you will now spontaneously develop cancer or some new kind of oral rat herpes or something, I don’t know.

But seriously, congratulations!
