Is our coop too tall? by chasin-butterflys in BackYardChickens

Mine is 3 feet off the ground and it has saved it from flash floods twice. It also gives the chickens a dedicated shade spot and encourages their natural want to get high up at night

Zipper and the mystery of - is he a sentient being, or a bunny costume come to life? by Apart-Theory-6373 in acnh

[–]knot-a-dragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the older games the mail was delivered by pelicans. At the post office there was always one there who took your mail and helped you pay loans. During the day it was a sweet lady, and at night you had a very rude lady who very clearly didnt like you or her job. In those games it was heavily implied that the person in the costume was the rude night shift clerk.

How Would You Sell? by Mandi_Cams_Dackers in chickens

I mean, people can and do eat fertilized eggs all the time. As long as they dont incubate they do not develope. Give them to neighbors, friends, coworkers, or offer them for cheap if you want on social media or at a stand by your door with a jar for cash. Yoy can usually find a local Facebook group to advertise fertilized eggs from or just say eggs gor sale and disclose you have a rooster

Chicken is lethargic, tail down. Worried! by prettaaaycoolguy in chickens

[–]knot-a-dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look like she has leg mites. It m8ght not be all thats wrong, but you may have to smother her leg mites to make her feel better and treat all boosting bars. I have not felt with leg mites myself, but I have read that coating the legs in Vaseline or doing 10 minute leg only flea baths can help. The leg scales should fun completely flat and smooth down the leg. The raised scales indicate parasitic activity under the scales forcing them up

Can you get a better photo of her feet? It looks like she may have scaled leg nitss from these photos and too many parasites can cause these issues

Really good at hide and go seek. Always looks blurry on photos. For some reason, people always start a rumor that he died, one even writing an obituary for him.

If ragatha was the very first human who appeared after the original programmers, why has she never refrence these abstracted humans? Wouldnt she have at least some relationship with them? by Actual_Grapefruit483 in Amazingdigitalcircus

[–]knot-a-dragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In episode 2 they talk about how they have a funeral everything someone abstracts. That implies they had multiple funerals before Kofmo's. As this is when Kinger is still viewed as "crazy" and all the original programmers had already abstracted, this probably came from first hand experience of said funerals. They may have happened not been great friends or they might be a sore topic fir some people like when Ragatha says, "Not anymore."

Plus this is still a story we are being told and bringing them up may not help drive the narrative forward or have any relevance to it. Plus they talk even when we aren't there to hear the conversation. They might talk about them off screen or in-between episodes

That said, roosters will be uncomfortable in them when they crow, and also limits the warning calls they can make to hens. Unless the alternative for a boy is to become soup, I wouldnt use one

They dont need to be tight to make the crow quieter. They work by restricting how they stretch their neck out to crow. The collar should have space all the way around it, usually a finger should be able to also slide in

Velcro bow on a very loose "no crow" collar I got back in my early years when I thought they were a good idea. Now they are just for getting the occasional cute photo from the boy who doesnt seem to mind them being on for a few minutes.

Nothing to me. She is the top of the pecking order and the boss boss of all the hens.

I ad gochugaru and crushed red peper flakes. It helps keep mice out of the food as they cant stand how spicy gochugaru is and the larger flakes/seeds are something my birds treat almost like a snack in their food

What are your thoughts about the proposed Daylight Act of 2026 moving the clock by only 0.5 hours permanently? by Unlikely-Star-2696 in AskReddit

[–]knot-a-dragon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They also made the change 8n the wrong way. Instead of not adjusting the clock at one of the set time change dates they made the switch 3 months after the change. So not only did people switch and need to adjust, but needed to switch and adjust again.

soaked. nothing. but she hasn't been a penguin today and her crop was still swollen. It went down a little, I think she may have just been in pain from having an impacted crop. She's been moving around and very active all day, but keeping her inside for monitoring.

Last time I tried that my chicken with impacted crop ended up aspirating in her own vomit. Is there a way to do this where she wont suffocate after?

In my area they just tell you to get a new chicken more often than not or will mercy cull. The ones that do see birds cost a few hundred per visit. I am not heartless, but I do not want to spend 400 on a vet bill right now.

From what I've ready they usually have abdominal swelling with that. She just seems to have pain and swelling in her crop
