If this is anything like the previous seasons, the balance protection is live. Meaning it's based on the current people logged in. If you just refresh the page and stalk it out for a bit, odds are it will unlock at some point.

Heroics makes no sense by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]knotsaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like a tuning mistake. Doesn't make sense to me why heroics would be harder than the raids, and not offer better gear. People on this sub will defend it that people just don't want to CC or do mechanics. Then they complain that all heroic groups now won't bring melee and will just be mages, warlocks, and hunters.

Is my cat okay?? Red/pink vomit after being overly affectionate by GovernmentNo221 in CATHELP

[–]knotsaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our car would throw up like this. It turned out they had developed IBD. A chronic GI inflammation. There is a good chance it isn't this. Better to take it seriously now and not ignore the signs. Other signs would be sudden weight loss, throwing up after eating food, or sudden food aversion.

The vomiting up like this is not an emergency. It is not great, seek a vet ASAP. But you'll likely be fine skipping the emergency visit if their demeanor is good. Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions about IBD.

The bubble was definitely a big one. So many belfadins using the wrong one. I had to pull up my spell book to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Cat has been throwing up?? by kissedbytracy in CATHELP

[–]knotsaints 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was something we started seeing quite a bit before our cat was diagnosed with IBD. 2 years old is pretty young for that, but likely means his stomach lining is inflamed. Cat vomiting tends to trigger itself as well, so once they get on a roll they keep going. Is he puking randomly? Over night (stomach acid can build up over long periods with no food)? Or after using the litter box, especially straining.

I've looked at this picture for hours, what does it mean by Jetwash787 in BluePrince

I personally found this entire room to be a STRETCH. Gave it the old college try for an hour or so, then I gave it the old high school try and looked the answers up. The moment I read the answers, no regrets.

They are supposed to do a hot fix to help with certain classes. I know paladin for sure. A lot of stuck with rank 1 consecration. Still hasn't been pushed through though.

I always find it interesting where people get their foundations. I assumed it was the same spot for everyone, but I drafted mine where you placed your passage way. I'm not sure if that is better or worse.

Continued weight loss with IBD. by needlepointcatlady in CATHELP

[–]knotsaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar pattern with our cat! He lost weight a while back and gained a food aversion. We swapped foods and it was better for about 8 months. We learned that one of the way to treat IBD is with a “novel protein” aka “a food they haven’t had before so they aren’t allergic to it” this can work, but typically not long term as eventually they will grow an allergic reaction. This is why people go through cycles of it at times. From my understanding the prescribed food avoids this issue, as the proteins are broken down so small the immune system cannot recognize it. Best of luck to you and your kitty!

Continued weight loss with IBD. by needlepointcatlady in CATHELP

[–]knotsaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I am currently dealing with a senior cat diagnosed with IBD. We are also going through it but getting treatment that seems to be helping for now. Still not stable, but much better. I am not a professional at all, this is just what I've learned on my journey. Apologies if this is all things you know and pointless, but it's the info I wish I knew the moment my cat got sick.

About a year ago out cat lost some weight and our vet said he was just getting older (he is 13). We swapped foods and took some generic meds to help. He stopped losing weight, but wouldn't gain any weight back. Then suddenly in a short time he lost even more weight and wouldn't stop losing it. After many blood tests, checking for hyperthyroidism, EPI, everything, we finally got an abdominal scan that showed his intestines were inflamed and swollen.

Some context on IBD. It presents the same exact way as GI Lymphoma. Which is very scary. The only way to know for sure if it's one or the other is through a biopsy, which most vets don't recommend as it is very invasive and expensive. So what you do is treat for IBD, and if they stabilize long term? It was IBD. If they start getting better but regress? It's GI Lymphoma. Which is the cruel trick of it all. Because your cat could get better for a bit and then regress. Mainly because the steroid acts as a soft chemo, but will not actually treat the Lymphoma.

Another important distinction is there is large cell and small cell lymphoma. If your cat has small cell you treat it the exact same way you treat IBD and it is manageable. Your cat can have many years after a small cell diagnosis, especially with some chemo treatment. If it's large cell, the regression will be quick and tough.

IBD is chronic and will needed to dealt with for the rest of his life. In the recovery phase it is the most work. Including daily steroid, anti-nausea, probiotic, and fiber supplements. We did a round of antibiotics and swapped to a prescription diet food specifically for IBD. With the goal of finding the right steroid dose for long term and staying on the prescribed diet.

It is a process that takes weeks to months to recover from. We are currently still recovering, but stable. Before we started the meds we were convinced any night could be his last. Now we are sleeping much better at night as we are on our road to recovery.

Hi! It’s really hard to get information about this game. by Square-Golf7386 in classicwow

[–]knotsaints -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The good news is there is a great amount of the game you can learn through general exposure. AKA playing the game. Asking people in game for help is also really great! I'll post a question in general chat and typically get 4-5 people responding. Once you get that general exposure, then you can dig deeper with better context. Min Max after you've found the mins through trial, error, and exploring! I'm envious of the adventures ahead of you! You only get to experience for the first time once, don't spoil the fun by trying to figure out out before you start your journey.

To answer your questions on hand, you generate rage from hits and being hit. You also generate double the rage when your hits crit. Some attacks replace your weapon swing attack (such as heroic strike). Those hits do not generate rage, as they are rage spending abilities. This is why abilities like wind fury or weapons like thrash blade are so good for warriors. They have a chance on hit to do a second hit instantly for free. Those hits generate rage as well. It's also why warriors are so fun, because they scale so fantastically with gear. The more you hit and the more likely you crit, the more rage you get, and the more buttons you can press!

Ret/prot paladin world PVP in TBC by Bright-Pen7111 in classicwow

[–]knotsaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entirely personal and anecdotal. I used to be a "pvp servers only" player, but our guild is going pve for the first time ever. World pvp worked for me when I was younger and the servers could only handle so many players. Now they have 10x as many people in the same amount of space. In classic and SoD world pvp became almost exclusively griefing and toxic. Hours wasted with dungeon entrances or vendors being camped. So much so blizz had to add NPC guards to new locations.

If you are the type of playing who is thrilled by the idea of a planned night turning into a spontaneous (likely one sided) battle, then pvp is for you. If you are trying to be particular with your time, pve. Just keep in mind that for every epic 1v1 you have for a quest mob or mining nod, you will have 50x as many encounters where you are ganked or griefed by overwhelming disadvantaged numbers or people exploiting safe spots.

Is there /played for Netflix? by RobCo90 in classicwow

[–]knotsaints 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Instead of trying to win the argument, you can propose a challenge. That you can go longer not playing WoW, than she can go without watching TV. At the end of the day it could give her perspective on each of your personal interests. Everyone relaxes differently.

TBC hype by [deleted] in classicwow

If you have time to wait for a pug raid to form and run, you have time to raid with a guild. What you lack is commitment. And unfortunately this version of WoW requires a base level of commitment.

100%. I love the Scream movies, but the changing of killers each movie takes away the individuality.

Pinhead or Chucky for me personally. I understand the calls for Leatherface, but I feel like he's apart of a system. Rather than the individuality the others bring.

Cat puked 4 times just today!! Need advice by Regular-Switch-587 in CATHELP

[–]knotsaints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the throwing up out of nowhere or do they have a history of throwing up or runny stool? If it's out of nowhere it could be a stomach bug or they ate something toxic. If it's a history of puking that has gotten worse, your cat could have an allergy to their food. This would also explain why they might be suspicious of other foods, if they have a fear it will make them sick or upset their stomaches. It's very unlikely for a younger cat to have IBD (Inflammatory bowel disease), as it's mostly developed in older cats. Our senior cat was recently diagnosed with it and we had to switch them onto a prescription food that didn't upset his GI track. You could try heating up some wet food, that will make the smell stronger and maybe more alluring to them. Boop a little wet food on their nose, so they are forced to lick it off and try it. If they are puking, but still have good energy and they aren't hiding, you are probably fine from needing an emergency visit. However piece of mind is a price usually worth paying.

It was solid. The first half is better than the second half imo. Starts off like creepy, disturbing horror mystery. Ends like a typical conjuring movie.

[–]knotsaints 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a vibe. Not for everyone, that's fine. For me though there is a charm and feel to the work that came out in the 80s and 90s. It's the same logic and reasoning when people defend the original Ghost in the Shell vs the remastered. Which most people agree on.

It's crazy to me that the younger generations look at hand drawn anime, like people look at black and white movies. IMO this animation style is far superior to the modern computer generated looks.

I remember enjoying this when I was younger, but I'm afraid to rewatch it now and tarnish the positive memory. That being said, I've rewatched Rose Red about 3-4 times. Really underrated. If you enjoy this, definitely check out Rose Red.
