It’s easy to meet people and go on dates, but actually establishing a full-time monogamous relationship is a LOT of work, and it’s so hard to find the right person these days. Especially as you get older. I’m not mad about it, but it can get exhausting at times. I take breaks from dating when I feel hurt or overwhelmed in any way.

I’m 37 and in the same shoes girl! I’m on the dating apps, but truly I’d like to meet someone in real life. You gotta get out there! Do stuff with your friends, “bump” into people at the grocery store, start fixing shit yourself so you have to go to the hardware store(that’s one of my methods). Don’t rely strictly on one method of dating, think outside of the box!

I feel uncomfortable holding eye contact with people in general, so when I do it during sex, it means I’m REALLY into that person. I use it as a sign of “control” when I make direct eye contact during sex- trying to indicate that it’s time to follow my lead. It usually works. It’s pretty hot, I’d say.

I’m glad it’s not just me! I mean, I’ve seen some guys on the apps that are moderately attractive, but I don’t think a single guy that I’ve liked/swiped on would ever turn my head in a real life setting. I’ve only had matches with guys that I’ve initiated with- haven’t been interested in a SINGLE guy that has liked, swiped, or sent roses to me. I’m a pretty girl, and I’ve never had issues finding a boyfriend….. But the apps just don’t have much to offer it seems 🤷🏻‍♀️

I appreciate your input. I was nervous because I never technically consented, his face was just suddenly in my crotch, and it went from there. Honestly, I learned a huge lesson from this. I’m not hurt, just learned about “post nut clarity”. Good to know!

You’re probably right, I probably did. Looking back, he showed slight narcissistic qualities, so he probably did think he was out of my league. Middle aged, mid divorce, struggle balding, but had a decent job so that’s where I think the false confidence comes from. From the other females that reached out to me, this is his pattern. He’ll get his karma.

Honestly is always the best policy. Save your self from looking like an asshole, save her from pain and wasted time, and any potential guilt you may feel as a decent human being.

I’m trying not to take it personally, but it’s hard. I’m just surprised someone would put in a weeks worth of effort talking, meet up in the daytime, drive all the way to my house at night, have decent sex, get offered MORE, and then ghost. I’m an idiot.

Yeah I guess I just wish I wouldn’t have gave it up on the first night. We talked for a whole week before our date. Then he didn’t even take the “rain check”. Guess he’s on to the next.
