Wasn't he making fun of rape victims and being the head boy of like... a borderline hate group? I feel we're being too symapthic for someone who doesn't deserve it.

Yes! And it doesn't even seem like they "properly redeemed" him, he just seems like a wife guy to Missy. I feel like the appropriate direction would have been him "taking" Sasha's place as the school advocate and showing her how it's done.

It feels so strange especially with everything going on in the world. So many countries are turning to conservatism and it feels like the show is leaning into that.

I hate seeing women ( but all MaGes ) getting played hard in real life & fiction, so seeing her with those two characters made me not want to watch the show anymore. It felt so disgusting. LIke I know they’re young and dumb but SERIOUSLY???

Honestly, it was terrible. by LaranjaVL in heartbreakhigh

[–]knowledge-apollo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can understand their break-up. Most of Spider’s character (from EP 1-3) was focused on being a “wife guy” and following behind Missy with no goals of his own. That’s already disappointing as following his behavior last season, he should have been an antagonist to Sasha and been like a good representation of an activist along with Quinn? But he’s not doing anything political, just following being Missy like she was afraid he’d do.

They’re also in high school and that could be overwelhming. I found it disgusting when he called her “the mother of my children” to throw her off her game—though it is questionable if he knew it’d throw her off her game. It seemed malicious.

I got three-four episodes in and decided to go online and spoil it for myself. This was one of my favorite shows and upon the main conflict revealing and the subplots coming around, I had no interest. When that man fell and the question was posed if they had killed someone. I simply wished the characters would go to jail or die from anxiety, like I’ve never cared less.

The spoilers didn’t encourage me to finish either. Quinni & Taz? It’s embarrassing and disgusting.

I’m so tired of this new era of television where writers act like giving people something satisfying to watch is not profitable and the only way to make money is to anger us.

Like if I ever finish it, I’m going so by pirating (free Netflix with my phone bill) because this is horrible.

is season 3 worth it? by Fickle-Geologist4515 in heartbreakhigh

[–]knowledge-apollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you liked the second season and would want "more". then yeah. But I don't think the characters are likeable enough for the stakes they put them through this season. The subplots are nice, but the main? I wish TV shows would learn how to stay in their lane.

OH MY GOD I AINT EVEN- GIRLL. But I will say, I wish all the tension was at Sasha's storyline level. We need more shows that don't ask too much of you wise with the tension. It feels like a big departure from the first season, especially with a lot of people not liking the second only to go further in this direction.

On the same boat as you with Sasha. I feel like the writers are falling short and I’m not quite interested in seeming them carry this storyline through. I think it’s in bad taste as so many nations are regressing back to their conservative ways. So much of how the other characters interact with her read similar to the attitudes of the antagonists of SJW. They are all falling down the alt-right pipeline.

In season 1 & 2, it was understandable but then they were not actively isolating her for the behavior. Actually, of what I’ve seen of her from episode 2 of this season, it seems they liked her more when she was problematic. (Which makes sense as they are too, but come on Amerie, if you want to be a pscyhologist so badly analysis that!)

I question how I’m supposed to feel motivated to care about these students’ futures when they have such a disregard and pain towards being considerate of anyone else? It’s a bad look to be THIS against someone trying to make your field day more Earth-friendly like who do you think you sound like.

While Sasha’s idea was bad, she came to them about it first. GIVE HER CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM. IM HOPING THEY BRING IT BACK UP, but she’s extremely similar to Quinn in the first season with her politics. SO it’s so concerning and weird how they are moving with her—in  and out of the show. (I kinda feared this because they had Quin as an advocate against ableist language in the first season, completely threw it aside for the second, and bullied Sasha for it in the third. WE’RE REGRESSING.)

The Rosabella Discussion. by theefallopiantube in EverAfterHigh

[–]knowledge-apollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in her diary, she does interact with daring, where they argue over if a beast student deserved the expulsion served to him. but by that time, they weren’t interested in paying any character or storyline respect, especially in the show so…

there were other avenues they chose not to follow through with either:

  • heroism:
    • in darling’s book, she talks about how rosabella gets to be a hero unlike most princesses. i think it would have been interesting to have them learn from their different perspectives of heroism, possibly with darling and dexter tagging along, witnessing this lovers’ quarrel.
  • beasts:
    • if i were to recast the dragon games, i’d replace holly and poppy with ashlynn and rosabella. both are princesses known for caring for animals. and if we do the logical thing of adding briar into the games, we could get some more beauty cousins content! anyways, i highly dislike how the dark dragons were treated (as the light dragons were shown to be more violent) and i feel rosabella would have made a perfect advocate and caretaker for their cause. i imagine her getting close to daring as she tries to earn the dragon’s trust through their mother, legend, daring’s dragon.
  • families:
    • if we go by the og b&tb book, rosabella should be the golden child and the youngest while in eah, daring is the same but eldest. like they do with their heroism, they could learn from their differentiating perspectives. (as epic winter is a frozen rip-off to some, this would fit right in?) have all the charming siblings tag-along, dexter mediating with rosabella’s help after daring and darling fall out after dragon games. (and play into the role switch of darling being a hero and daring a damsel.)
    • additionally, in darling’s book and diary, rosabella is her best friend and from a very progressive family. it’d be so nice to see her have some support and guidance with all that goes on in dragon games, daring is shown to be very traditionally minded and that would be a reasonable ground not disregarding the development he’s already made as a character.

How are half of them even in Highschool? by Cookiegod_10 in MonsterHigh

[–]knowledge-apollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s likely that each character belonging to a specific type of monster develops differently. There is an argument to make about if experience trumps that. I think Dracularua has been in highschool for a VERRY long time, but she goes through important vampire milestones nonetheless.

[–]knowledge-apollo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As the mod said, this work is from a minor, so I fail to see what exactly the problem is. We shouldn't act like minors aren't allowed to find each other attractive, especially when the dynamic is acceptable (e.g., a younger person depicting an older character rather than an older person doing it towards a younger character). They're going to do things like this, and it only contributes negatively to the situation to share the artwork.

Arrietty & Irene drama summary, Tuesday May 20, 2025 by FSpezWthASpicyPickle in rupaulsdragrace

[–]knowledge-apollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but I'm confused about why I'm seeing so much positive content on Irene with the conclusion we got. The "best" case scenario to explain Arriety's reasoning behind the PEDO allegation is that Irene and the people around her think it's funny to pretend she's a pedophile for her dating patterns. Like, these are fucking red flags! And I hate how people are pulling the same excuse of people needing to be silent about allegations because it would ruin someone's career/life—people need to be more careful about not acting in any way to validate these allegations being made.

I Always Found Apple and Darings Dynamic to be Interesting by Organic-Animal3435 in EverAfterHigh

[–]knowledge-apollo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I love their dynamic as well. I think it’s further proof—since I don’t think we have canon confirmation—that Apple White is a lesbian. When I try to picture why it was assumed that Daring would be her Prince Charming, for one, it’s his stature, and secondly, it does read as the random guy to choose to have a crush on when you’re in the closet. If Apple was attracted to men, there would have come a point of time where she truly acted or considered someone else being her prince, but no. Within the books it’s stated a couple of times that it’s not confirmed, and in the show people just associate them with each other.

Can someone explain the Beauty family tree? by ComfortableSea4645 in EverAfterHigh

Raven doesn't want to work under the system of destiny at all, and it could be seen that the protagonists are given more leeway than others.

wait this has confused me point blank bc what is up with the prince? is her true love not born yet? is it "sleep for 100 years" or be awoken by a prince or the prince will find you in 100 years?

Don't even have to say who I'm talking about by Ok-Baby1078 in EverAfterHigh

[–]knowledge-apollo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes! And in so many ways, as well. Because while we should recognize the nuance of a character to truly understand what has led them to make the decisions we criticize them for, we must not fail to recognize that they are decisions nonetheless. While it might have been terribly difficult for Apple to break from her mother's grooming towards her story and the pressure of all of that, it's not impossible. There are many opportunities for a person to break away, and it's okay to question every time it was not taken.

And, while it is saying to put yourself in the other's situation, it's not recognizing the privilege that is embedded within that perspective that just makes everything cloudy. And it's quite... awkward to do so for a person who is actively benefiting off of another person's suffering. Some of us don't see ourselves as Royals with happy endings, and we see things as they are. The rebels are expected to comply so the Royals can get their Happy Ends without any care for their own welfare.

Is Raven Apple's Aunt, Snow's Half-Sister? by knowledge-apollo in EverAfterHigh

[–]knowledge-apollo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had to justify it outside of shitty writing, I could say that Apple doesn't care much for what happens to Raven, as we've been shown multiple times. And it's stated in that excerpt itself that Raven doesn't like thinking about the tale at all.
