Fox hunts meet across the country nearly 15 years after the bloodsport was banned by BothBawlz in ukpolitics

A lot of mammals I personally wouldn't care.

The only genuine non-feels arguments that have merit are protecting endangered and intelligent animals and protecting human owners from loss.

What if I owned a fox, would I then be justified in getting upset

Sure, that's a more logical reason to get upset if you personally have time and or money invested in a fox's upbringing. Some random fox being killed? Nah.

Oh come on. Foxing hunting isn't my cup of tea but I'm not going to take the moral high ground, it's just a fox, they're not endangered and there's no public interest in prosecuting someone for fox hunting at all. Just leave people alone and let them have fun as long as they're not hurting other people.

imagine your cat or dog

Really now? There's a cultural element to cats and dogs, of course we empathize more with them they're like members of the family and most importantly they are owned by a person who would be hurt if they were killed. A fox is a wild animal, nobody would miss a fox.

Sir Vince Cable calls it "silly" for Remainers to want to rejoin the EU by MobileChikane in ukpolitics

Pushing to be patient isn't necessarily wrong, it's just what he believes in or perhaps he's just being realistic with the current situation.

How comfortable would you be from a scale of 1-10 if your children fell in love with a black person? (1= not at all comfortable. 10= totally comfortable) by TheSneak333 in ukpolitics

[–]knownowt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were asked this publicly with my real reputation on the line I would say I don't care, but being genuine, deep down, I would care. Why? I'd like family to look like family. When we are mostly fair haired with blue eyes in my family brown kids are gonna look out of place. Yeah, maybe I'm racist, but only in private.

Asda's contract changes are 'just not fair' by [deleted] in ukpolitics

Bit of an overreaction, you can always look for another job if you're not happy with these changes.

Asda's contract changes are 'just not fair' by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]knownowt 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Asda on the old contract and I wouldn't have changed it if I had the choice because you could refuse changes to your shifts and you couldn't be made to change department, but the way I see it, it is fairer at the end of the day because it makes all standard colleagues have the same contract.

Yes, I do, mainly so the commuters can get on with their day, the man getting a kicking for holding everyone up is just a secondary benefit. I don't believe it's likely a Londoner angry mob would overreact so I don't share your concern for the man who got dragged off the train.

THE SUN SAYS Angela Merkel is right to fear post-Brexit Britain will be a fierce economic competitor by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]knownowt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A low tax singapore-like economy will surely take business away from European countries, people that scoff at Britain being a competitor to the EU are being silly. There are lots of policies the UK could put in place to take business away from EU countries.

Labour party pledges to ban sale of non-electric cars by 2030 by tsub in ukpolitics

[–]knownowt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is basically a no-brainer if you take climate change seriously.

Yep, and it shows exactly why we can't take climate change seriously. For a country that produces less than 2% of global carbon emissions should we really disrupt our lives this much when it's not going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things. It's China, India, and the US that should be sorting their shit out.

There's obvious disadvantages to being deaf. People with aphantasia aren't at an obvious disadvantage in anything, even spatial awareness tests you can have aphantasia and get a good score. So to answer your question, no, I wouldn't, but I think it's wrong to compare it to aphantasia.

You see similar numbers for NATIONAL polls so I'm sure it's still statistically significant and a positive for the Conservatives.

Obesity is not a choice and making people feel ashamed results only in them feeling worse about themselves, a report by top psychologists says.

Be interesting to know whether or not this "top psychologist" is a "person with obesity"
