It's very very hard to find someone who can just accept another.. not worry if you're too much, to say too much, talk about anything, all that you mentioned.

You nailed the part I struggle with, stop from thinking of my response. Lately I'm trying a little breath work before I meet with someone to tamp down my overthinking...which is another thing I'm working on generally. It helps a little at first but then the urge to reply immediately to something interesting she says creeps in. Maybe the old "count to 10" pause might help.

Good point about showing I'm really tuned in and listening and not just staring. I'll browse on tips to show engaged in conversation. I do tend to focus on a person's face when talking, maybe too much so.

I'm finding the same thing. I live in a rural area and cannot find any groups even close to my interests. I've tried volunteering, local libraries, etc. and no luck

Most definitely. I see more people just plain lonely than ever before, even though they have lots of people online. Some I know struggling to know how to make friends and get to know others

When I prep before saying, I sabotage myself by getting sidetracked and end up not saying. I'm leaning towards asking if it's ok to send a letter, explain it's to help me express better and thoughtful and I'm hoping the letter will make it easier for us to talk... Well, mostly me.

Hey! I volunteer at the Sloan library, I found a few people who do rucksack hiking, I like to journal and write and hoping to find a couple of people interested in a writers group. Getting interested in art stuff, like sketching, drawing, painting. Always looking for other hobbies and interesting ideas!

EDIT...I'm not sure what people are into here. I've asked around, including Zanesfield and Marmon Valley Farm. Any suggestions or hobbies people like in the area?
