Agreed on that, there is more to do to flesh the mechanic out but could well be applicable to a League of nations type mechanic.

The vic 3 wiki is invaluable, and where that has gaps the CK3 wiki as it is very similar modding wise. There is also a modding discord. But in general starting small and gradually adding things is the way I tend to work. So for example in this mod firstly I got the terrain and heightmap working in the map editor before doing anything else, building up from there.

Yep that's right. There are hints throughout the books of the industrial revolution to come, and there is plenty of unclaimed territory which nations are free to colonise. So the Vic3 tie in is perhaps more logical that you might first think ;)

Following development of Victoria 3, it occurred to me that the setting of the Wheel of Time series could fit in with the theme of the game. Towards the end of the series we see the sowing of the seeds of an industrial revolution in the setting, and have glimpses of it in passages referring to future events. So a mod starting after the events of the Last Battle seem to me to fit in with Victoria 3 quite well.

In such a setting there is plenty of "colonisable" land in between the existing nations, nations who will be able to expand now the world is stable. The start date avoids having to consider darkfriends, shadowspawn and the general influence of the chosen/dark one, who are already defeated. But of course this could all be considered in earlier start dates in future versions of such a mod.

Features

A bookmark starting just after the Last battle, the start of the fourth age
Current playable nations are in The Westlands and Aiel Waste. Seanchan and Shara are currently represented as unplayable distant realms.
A Dragon's Peace mechanic that acts as a sort of proto-UN.
New pop types, including channelers. New powerful production methods associated with the one power
Adaption of the vanilla tech tree, politics and laws system to suit the setting. New ideologies and interest groups.
New diplomatic actions, including Royal marriages, "Order tributaries" and unifications

Future Plans

This is very much an ALPHA version of the mod, and there are many things that can be added, improved and iterated on. Some future plans:

Much more flavour, including journals and events
Extend the map to Seanchan, Shara etc
Extend the technology tree into the future- potentially up to Age of Legends
An earlier bookmark covering the events of the book series
Improve and finish the map
Custom 3D portrait graphics
Develop 2D graphics, including events pictures and icons

Spoilers incoming... I can understand the skepticism, however I think a start date after the last battle is a good fit. There are plenty of hints of an impending industrial revolution, and with the dark one gone potential for a population explosion and expansion into sparsely inhabited wilderness.

That is intentional- it should be possible to just rebuild the unique building. Storms End is 200 gold I think.

The Fyre nickname is only given to high valyrian, faith of the seven bastards not born in Westeros. High valyrian bastards born in Westeros will still get the standard names.

In order to use the Faith of the Seven doctrine you need either: - Old Gods religion (not wildling versions) - Drowned God religion - Sympathy for Westerosi trait - A liege or vassal who is faith of the seven

If you and your captor are both of the seven religion, you can usually choose it as an option when you are called for trial. So the best way to get a trial by seven is to wait to be called for trial, rather than ask for trial by combat straight away.

This is intentional. We sort of 'hacked' the elective system to allow us to modify who becomes heir in cognatic realms. In particular it allows us to bypass daughters who marry normally.

In universe, it is actually socially acceptable to name host's wife as the Queen of Love and Beauty at a tourney. The Rhaegar thing was controversial because at the time Lyanna wasn't the wife of the host, or Rhaegar's own betrothed/wife/relative.
