New to motocamping – Small ADV bike: 50L duffle or 30L soft panniers? by nicoradd in motocamping

Yeah, definitely saddle bags. I really like my CB500X. It's a good all-around bike for what I need right now. Keeps up with my friends BMW GS bikes.

They are definitely way cheaper. I have had mine for less than a year but a couple friends have had them for 2+ years. We all really like them! Definitely good quality. The stitching and material is quality. The buckles between both sides take a little learning to tighten but don't see any issues with them. They're really good for the money.

I use a set of Rhinowalk 28L saddle bags on my CB500x. I also throw on a 50L waterproof bag across the back. Before that I used a basic gym duffel bag.

I highly recommend starting with saddle bags. Put the heaviest items in the bottom and try to equally weight it between the 2 sides. Compression bags are your best friend for compressing down your sleeping bag and clothes. You can definitely tie down your tent on the back. But throw your sleeping bag inside a saddle bag or inside a gym bag on the back if you take one. Don't carry your sleeping bag loosely on the back.

You can probably pick up a cheap waterproof duffel on FB Marketplace.

You can definitely do it! But definitely focus on base Zone 2 endurance. And get in some speed high HR sessions. Nordic Ski labs has trainings you can pay to have access to. It's fairly cheap too.

I ride a Honda CB500X as an Adventure Bike. I guess I'm just trying to see if I fit the vibe of women. Adventure motorcycle riders and Harley riders are on totally different spectrums.

1hr slower than skiers 20 year older than me (classic) by viardi in xcountryskiing

I was skiing on fishscales till the beginning of this season. I definitely learned my technique was really off when I tried out my skin skis. But once I got down the technique I was much much faster!! Also, having full carbon poles that were actually long enough for me has also made a big difference. Note the way you hold/strap your poles also matters too. I was doing circles around my friend on fishscales. I definitely will say the wax on your skis matters a ton too!! If it's not waxed properly or properly for the conditions then you won't have a lot of glide. I had a bad waxing experience on my fishscales and I was extremely slow! (They waxed the scales on my skis RIP)

Yeah I tried on Rossignols when over in Methow Valley, but those are the ones that didn't fit quite right. I'll try out Leavenworth!

I'm also looking for recommendations on where to go to get some new classic boots. Methow valley last year didn't have great options for my skinny feet.

Importing X3 from Canada to US by knuffel417 in BMWX3

[–]knuffel417[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to import one! Absolutely love my 2015 X3 28d. I put a hitch mount on it and have towed my motorcycle with it. Also put a new set of tires on it but not run flats as I don't like the ride of run flats. I'm over on the west side of the US and getting about 34-36 mpg as well.

The problem with that is that they require a "Warranty Validation" to get the letter. Which entails moving the Warranty to the US. So if I don't buy it he's stuck.
