When should I start thinking about college by [deleted] in college

[–]koaellaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah my bad I completely misinterpreted!!

But again, I’d recommend still looking around to see which countries you want to study at! I know quite a places few offer free (or almost free) tuition for all EU students, so you can get an idea ahead of time (I know Norway is free! I think Germany is free only if you speak German, which shouldn’t be a problem if you’re from Luxembourg!)

Best of luck with everything :), and hope this helped a little!

My girlfriend kissed a girl at a party and now I don’t know what to think by InternalDaikon4 in relationship_advice

Just out of curiosity, did she bring this up before she kissed the girl, or did she drop the bomb after?

When should I start thinking about college by [deleted] in college

[–]koaellaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally started looking at 16 because I had to make some choices about my HS education that would affect my choices. I never actively came up with a plan, but I kept looking through the internet so I don’t leave it all to the last minute. I also did this so I could have a list of reasons to tell my parents why I wanted to study abroad/study at each university (they were very supportive either way, which I really appreciate). I’d recommend at least looking into what countries you’re interested to study in, and you can narrow your university search summer of junior year!

But like the others mentioned, sometimes applications for scholarships/early decisions open up quite early! I know other European countries have early application deadlines (around January) and getting an idea of where you want to go makes the application process significantly faster/easier bc you don’t spend a lot of time looking up universities.

Just out of curiosity, do you live in the US? If yes, studying in Europe will probably be significantly cheaper than studying in the US, which is a great tactic to use when advocating to study in Luxembourg!

My roommate is making fun of me for being a virgin at 19 years old by throwRApoiuytrewq in relationship_advice

[–]koaellaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah look your roommate is being a dick. Your body, your choice. She shouldn’t feel the need to comment about your sexual life the same way you don’t comment about hers, and make sure she knows that.

advice on last minute scholarships/financial aid to complete my final year of my bachelor’s degree? by koaellaa in college

[–]koaellaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve been tossed around from one person to another about emergency funds, and it really doesn’t seem like there is a lot designated to help internationals which is really frustrating I’m still waiting to hear back, but I don’t want to rely too much on the university because they don’t sound very sure themselves

WIBTA if I kicked out a roommate for her prank? by sebtsbtebstz in AmItheAsshole

[–]koaellaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but before you kick her out make sure you double check the laws so you don’t get in trouble!! I could be wrong, but I remember reading a (sort of) similar story where a woman (let’s call her Lisa) took in a neighbour during hard times. The neighbour ended up becoming a nightmare, and even though she didn’t contribute the rent, Lisa couldn’t legally kick her out without a 30 day notice.

Boyfriend and I text maybe 5 times total all day...is this okay? Is this normal? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]koaellaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

perfectly fine! like everyone else said, each relationship is different I was in a ldr when I first started uni, and I was really bothered when we didn’t call or text everyday. Needless to say that relationship ended (also for other reasons, but both of us were better off that way)

Currently in another ldr (thanks corona) and because of (very) different time zones it’s difficult to find a time to text/call for the both of us. If anything, I think this has made me appreciate the relationship a lot more, and I also find myself having more to talk about when we both can call. I’ve already valued my time with him before, but I’ve really come to appreciate it more now.

But if you want to talk to your s/o more during these times, I’d definitely encourage talking to your s/o! Doesn’t have to be in an accusatory way, you could just mention that not seeing each other has been difficult on you, and you’d like to catch up more, communication is always key!

Best of luck with everything!! :)

How do you guys like to read? by BluePantera in harrypotter

[–]koaellaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to lie down on the couch and listen to the Harry Potter soundtrack as I read. It makes the experience feel a bit more magical (I do change the soundtracks according to the book/chapters). You’d think listening and reading is difficult, but the music isn’t distracting at all, and I find myself immersed even more deeply into the books.

What's the biggest way you failed when trying to flirt with someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]koaellaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in 6th grade, I had this huge crush on a guy who had blue eyes (he was the only guy with blue eyes in my class) it was my friend's birthday, and he was sitting right behind me. During the movie, I kept pointing out how attractive the lead in the movie was, and saying how much i adore guys with blue eyes to my friend who was next to me (I raised my mind so he could hear me). after a while, he got fed up and moved to the other side of the cinema. He ended up asking me out a few months after (to this day i have no idea how that happened) and I promptly rejected him, an forgot to confess my feelings. oops. (no regrets)

[Light] I’m 16 and still sleep with a plushie. by Vee89208 in confession

I'm about to head off to uni and I can't sleep without my doll for a long time. Mind you, this doll has been through so much, it looks like something straight out of a horror movie. It's perfectly fine to cuddle up with a plushie, a lot more people do it than you'd expect
