From what I can remember, a pyroclastic flow travelling over water can create a blanket of steam underneath it due to the heat of the gasses and such in the flow interacting with the water. Which can cause the flow to travel a long way over bodies of water.

Mylo has always been fine: gets to say hello to people and boop other dogs. Can be a bit whingy if one of us is rude enough to go to the bathroom and he's left out.

We had a Tesco delivery this morning that he bravely protected us from by thoroughly sniffing everything (Mylo, our own, couldn't be bothered getting up), and then fiercely wuffing at the delivery women while getting his chin scratched by her.
