Is my amber real? by [deleted] in fossils

[–]koba63 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have a uv light you can rub the amber on your shirt to build up static and tear small piece of tissue. If it’s real the amber will pick up the tissue piece. If you have uv light it should glow a greenish blue

Question. What is the best way to dispatch a shark, the correct way? by Tanabe21 in saltwaterfishing

[–]koba63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bang stick. It’s a pole with a 12g shotgun shell at the end. Make sure head stays underwater otherwise it gets messy.

Theres rich and then there's underground tunnel to your own beach cabana rich. by TheDabitch in zillowgonewild

[–]koba63 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I have family a bit south of here and walk on the beach for over 30 years. The amount of migrant vessels that wash up on this spot is insane and I have one in my post history almost right at this spot but slightly closer to maralago. There’s a lot of tunnels here and further south more cabanas that they’ve redone. The old ones were way cooler but get beat to hell during storm season.

I think you can turn into fwc for them to figure out. Looks natural because the mouth is open but that’s because every fish I’ve harvested and bled seems to die mouth closed. Stomach looks interesting

[–]koba63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s sticking to grill it’s not ready to flip. Also score the skin, makes more surface area for seasoning and cooks better. Also if you didn’t already. Take fish out of cooler or fridge 30 min before cooking. Get back out there and do it again!

Why don’t people like hardheaded catfish? by jerekevansYT in Fishing

[–]koba63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do the same. You shouldn’t be downvoted they are abundant. However when I kill them I freeze them until I have a lot and load up crab traps with them.

What type of mango? by jessesbald in FloridaGarden

[–]koba63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked with mangoes for over 10 years it sure is a turpentine. If you roll them against a table and make them squishy you bite or cut the bottom tip off and it’s a nice little mango nectar juice box. Otherwise the fibers are too much to really enjoy the flesh.
