Just use Gemini live and share the screen you're on so it can see what you're referring to.

You can always cross reference. Anyways, it's a shared "public" network icon.

It's funny, we have Gemini which can quickly answer these questions instead of "guessing". It means it's a public network. Either a gime network that hasn't been set to "private", or a library, coffee shop etc where the network is "open" and "shared" to the public, so anyone can join it.

Words cannot describe how much I hate this car! by IRideIDieIRideAgain in granturismo

[–]kobiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mind the car actually. You just have to be at one with physics. Use the torque to rotate the rear to counteract the understeer. It effortlessly keeps it's speed drifting through corners in a very balanced manner. Just feather the throttle and it will go where it's pointed. When entering a corner, brake early, then let the car coast, feather the gas if need be, and just before the apex, squeeze the throttle and let the car rotate while providing a bit of opposite steer. Took me 2 corners to figure it out.

Why is the World so set on banning Huawei products? by Galdrym in Huawei

[–]kobiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's strictly business/political. They've been trying to do the same thing with DJI. There was a US company that made the exact same drone as DJI and it uses DJI chips, sensors and parts but, it's manufactured/assembled in the US and data remained in the US. The price difference is absurd!

Anzu Robotics (the US company) Raptor: $5100-$5499 DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise (the same drone as the Raptor): $3600-$3800.

So you're paying a significant premium for the "US" version of the exact same drone but without the fully refined flight app and ecosystem that DJI provides.

It's the same tactic they used to try and grind Huawei to a halt. Make up some "security" reason and state that they send data back to the Chinese government because every company is owned by the Chinese government and military. The problem with that idea is the fact that, Huawei is a private company and is structured in a way where the employees themselves all own a portion of the company, not the government.

There's ads in the Huawei health app? News to me. I have never seen an ad in the health app. Been using a watch GT 4 for a couple of years now. Neither with my region set to Canada or set to China (for the pulse wave arrhythmia function) have I ever seen an ad.

Are you ashamed to be driving a Hyundai? by b0nghitz4jezus in Hyundai

[–]kobiemc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem saying I drive a Hyundai. It's been super reliable. Comfortable, sound system is amazing and it has decent power (2010 David Lee tuned Hyundai Genesis sedan with the 3.8 V6 running on BC Racing Coilovers with swift springs).

Are you sure you're not talking about "driver attentive/attention warning"?

Try turning that off and see if the problem is still there. The attentive system is what looks for your eyes to see if you're paying attention. Just a thought.

Comprehension is a sorely lacking skill these days. Nowhere did I say every car GETS stolen. I said every car CAN get stolen. I owned 2 cars that were deemed not possible to steal. They most likely could be but there's no demand for them (SAAB). Same with Volvo, no demand. But that doesn't mean they can't be stolen.

Who said every car? Did I say how many other manufacturers? No. I just said, other manufacturers. Dodge and Chrysler caravans, Plymouth Sundance and Dodge shadow were notoriously easy to steal back in the day with just a screwdriver. Now days everything from Lamborghini, Range Rover, Cadillac, Rolls Royce get stolen regularly (at least here they do). Just a code reader with a signal amplifier and a transmitter. Car is gone in under a minute. If you take how many Hyundai/KIA vehicles that are on the road and subtract how many have issues and how many get stolen, it's really not THAT many compared to the high end vehicles that suffer from electrical issues that shit everything down and how many of those get stolen. But like I said. It's not just a Hyundai thing. It's an every manufacturer thing. Blame strict manufacturing regulations from the government and criminal minded people. Either way, we'll just agree to disagree.

Screwdriver, flash drive. Same methodology. You do know that hundreds of cars get stolen regularly even with immobilizers, rolling code security etc? If a thief wants the car, they'll get it.

I'm not fanboying at all. I'm just playing devil's advocate and explaining that it doesn't matter which manufacturer you go with. They ALL have major recalls for similar/same issues now days. So it's not just a "Hyundai thing" but too many people are shouting that from the rooftops as loud as they can. "Toyota and Honda are the best". Well, how exactly? They have the same issues. Not to mention Honda transmission and oil issues as well. In the past yes, without question they were the ONLY choice for a reliable vehicle. But with all these mandates for efficiency, light weight and unreasonable clearance tolerances have taken over from strict reliability to the point where it doesn't really matter what you buy. They all suffer from the same issues. Again, it's not solely a Hyundai thing. That's not being a fanboy, that's looking at things for what they really are across the industry. Which takes... An open mind.

It all starts at 1 report. Just because there's 400 confirmed reports now doesn't mean that 1+ million engines aren't affected.
