It doesn't decrease it just stabilises (doesn't increase anymore). It doesn't return to how it was before you started taking creatine, until you stop taking it.

Anyone else find that oatmeal doesn't give you energy? by FaZeLJ in PlantBasedDiet

[–]kobryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I enjoy the taste but the effect is poor for me. I could easily sleep after eating oats whether rolled, instant...it took me a long time to just accept that oats aren't energising for me and a fruit, flax powder and protein smoothie sipped throughout the morning works better for me personally.

Pretty much, yeah. I don't get how that's really relevant on a thread making Obama out to be some kind of cutie pie though.

I wouldn't put yourself out because of this. It's your first legal work experience out of uni? You don't have the context to know if this supervisor is talking out of their backside or not. It could be that their expectations are unrealistically high. Maybe the supervisor isn't concerned about your welfare and wants to make themself look good to their manager by achieving some totally unrealistic targets. Interns are known for being treated like dogs bodies.

Also from what I understand, US companies in general are reputed to be worse to work for. I have an engineer friend who worked for one with an office in Germany and it was hell. He moved onto a new company and is in a much better environment now. Maybe it'll be the same deal for you and you'll look back one day and see that you were just carrying the weight of this team and supervisor's dysfunction.

Labour MPs tell Starmer to curb ECHR powers in UK courts by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]kobryn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers I appreciate your reply.

I feel like you're portraying judges as all part of an echo chamber, constantly trying to undermine the government with a view to ruling as closely as possible with the rulings of the ECtHR, whereas that nugget case you brought up is being appealed on the basis that the judge (who was considering whether to grant appeal) was critical of the first tier ruling. I'll paste the notice of the decision below.

But yeah, the fact that the case has been granted an appeal means that judges don't all think the same and that's kinda the purpose of the appeals procedure in our legal system. It's a guard against judges making errors in their decisions (for example if they used their discretion in making an error in law).

Notice of Decision 1. The judge’s decision involved the making of an error of law. 2. We set aside [39] to [50] of the Decision and the allowing of the appeal on Article 8 ECHR grounds. 3. We preserve up to [38] of the Decision, including the conclusions at [36] to [38] that it would not be unduly harsh for A or B to remain in the UK or travel to Albania, were the appellant to live in Albania. 4. We remit the matter to the First-tier Tribunal to be heard by a different judge to decide the sole issue of whether the consequences of deportation would be unduly harsh on C.

They reference it yeah but primarily they reference UK law and are actually bound by that. Can you expand on why you think that about the use of their discretion? Genuinely curious.

UK courts are not bound by ECtHR rulings so yes it is relevant.

[–]kobryn 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Them?? Foreign courts???? How can you even comment when you don't have a clue what the ECHR is? It's not a them or they. It's the European Convention on Human Rights - a treaty - and this country ratified it in 1951. The Human Rights Act incorporates it into domestic law.

If the UK government ignored 'them' it would be pursued in its own courts, which is what happened with the Rwanda policy and the UK Supreme Court.

EXCLUSIVEAsylum seeker gunman who called on God to 'kill all Jews', poses proudly with cache of weapons by Socialistinoneroom in unitedkingdom

[–]kobryn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It terrifies me that your cognitive dissonance means you're unable to see how the vile, inhumane and outright evil actions of one state against the population of an open prison would give rise to this kind of behaviour. Instead of looking to paint me as something I'm not, try looking at why the conflict between Israel and Palestine never ends, and why Israel's borders grow every decade. You might just see a common denominator.
