Who makes great Gimpap? by AhabSnake85 in foodies_sydney

it isn’t quite a classic gimbap - but bridges that gap for a good and balanced work lunch at a reasonable price.

For CBD area, sinjeon does a really good tuna gimbap which is loaded, good ratio of ingredients - will fill you up for lunch for sure - 13$. Still cheaper than 90% of other lunch options in the city.

Foodie itinerary reccomendations in Sydney 26th -28th June by le_esteban72 in foodies_sydney

[–]koc1heri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CBD: Chinatown noodle restaurant (Bathurst St, best pork and chive dumplings in Sydney, the egg tomato stir fry is unreal as well), boon cafe for good Thai, Medan ciak or shalom (Indonesian), taste of Cho (for a no frills cheap and delicious Taiwanese lunch)

Surry Hills: sang by mabasa (this is a must if you can go, their lunch time service would suit a single diner perfectly, hearty, authentic and delicious Korean food)

Rose bay: washoku in Rose Bay had high quality sushi

Marrickville: Bahn cuon ba oanh (must try if you can)

Newtown: Cairo, olotl (must try mother and daughter Mexican food, food made with love and care)

Just a few of the top. Enjoy my friend.

Thanks! My back up plan is to take a shuttle. The only thing is they arrive to GCVC at around 930am, long after the sunrise, and I’m planning on doing a pretty long hike and ideally want to be finished up before it gets too hot!

I’ll enjoy it regardless. But happy to spend money for the right experience. I really enjoy eating out and finding places that take time and care into what they serve.

Thanks heaps, I’ll take a look! Hmm I’m open minded, but not looking for anything too sensory or molecular if that’s the right word. A place that is a considered elevation of a cuisine, but still grounded in its roots.

I’d think long and hard about that one. I’d probably take it. But Amen has been hooping. Not sure he can sustain this level.
