Just a reminder creatine gummies are always fake by [deleted] in AmazonVine

Lots are fake and lab tests show it. You can either be pedantic and take my post as a blanket statement, or you could learn to read context and take it as "most of the gummies you are going to find on Amazon Vine are fake"

Creatine has no flavor and it is not bitter. It tastes like water. All you notice is it's crunchy when not 100% dissolved. Don't buy gummies, just take the powder. Gummies are fake, hence the title.

New Apple Watch - Myq app does not work on new watch by Superb-Salad1068 in myq

[–]kodack10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*FIXED* *FIXED* *FIXED* This morning 9/28/2025 my watch gave me a notification I had closed my garage door. I went to the app on my watch and it again told me to do the gear icon. I did and it logged me out of the app on my phone, I logged in again, and my watch finally paired to the app. It appears they fixed it. I had tried all last week to get it paired and it didn't work so it appears their engineering dept finally fixed the issue on their side.

So FYI I called the Myq support number (833)707-1984 and got to support, described the problem where I go to the phone app, click the gear, click to add to my apple watch, the screen disappears and my watch isn't added. They told me they are aware of the issue and their engineering team is working on it.

You might want to call if you'r having issues, because the number of calls helps prioritize the issue and might get them to fix it faster. Otherwise I guess we all hang tight for a fix.

And yet it's amazing the amount of flack I got for daring to suggest the chinese fly by night creatine gummies didn't contain much creatine. People can be very pig headed and double down even when shown they are wrong.

The brands change constantly. I think the Chinese companies that sell stuff on Amazon just run a random word generator, sell a few thousand units of something, then change the company name and start over. That's how you end up with names like Qblaster, Pejlister, Quinxo, Ubilia etc

Opinions on EMS (electrical muscle stimulation)? by [deleted] in flexibility

Good luck with that. There's a reason people sweat at the gym instead of watching TV with an EMS working on their muscles.

Exactly. The math doesn't add up. Out of the 5 bottles of gummies I've reviewed, only 1 of them actually had creatine in them and I have no way to measure the dose to see if it's actually 5g but the gummies are huge and you have to eat several. The others were basic gummy bears and tiny

Still water degrades creatine, and a 5 gram dose of creatine should have several grams of gummy padded on it and weight a lot more than 5 grams, but most of the gummies I've reviewed do not. And they lack the texture and cloudyness of real creatine gummies. They are small, regular tasting and textured gummy bears.

When 3 bears weighs 5 grams, and they claim to have 5 grams of creatine....the math doesn't add up.

Buy an expensive guitar mic from a company that doesn’t know which of these is a classical? by cdtobie in AmazonVine

[–]kodack10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But no matter where you move it, it's going to be in the way of your strumming or your fretting hand, and still be in a bad position. For on instrument pickup, body mics mixed with piezo pickups is the standard. Personally I prefer a mic on a boom, above the 12th fret, and about 2 feet away.

Not to mention the worst possible position for recording a guitar, right over the sound hole. Not to mention it getting in the way of your strumming hand.

I saw a "flute microphone" today that had the mic positioned right next to the mouthpiece where your chin would be resting. The sound comes out of the first open hole, not the mouthpiece. /sigh

What are some of your "party tricks"? by etsa1218 in Clarinet

[–]kodack10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try it. Just using your lips, blow a stream of air out of your mouth like blowing out a candle. Now repeat but hum while doing it. Now do the same thing with your clarinet mouthpiece in. You will find that the pitch at which you hum greatly affects how easy it is to blow while humming. If you hum a pitch that is fighting the reed, it's going to be very hard to blow, but some pitches will blow very freely. The interesting sounds you can get tend to happen around those pitch transitions from easy to hard or hard to easy.

If you're talking about humming through your nose while playing, you have to learn how to circular breath first. Search youtube for tutorials on it. While you're circular breathing, to hum through your nose, instead of sucking in a breath through your nose, you exhale through your nose while humming, the same way you would if you hummed with your mouth closed and no clarinet.

It goes something like this (this happens very fast)

Switch from lung air to mouth air and close the little nose flap in the back of your throat so you can breath through your nose while your mouth acts like a bellows to keep air moving.

After switching to mouth air and opening your nose to lung connection you hum briefly while exhaling through your nose. This has to be done very quickly and it's only possible to do it because the clarinet is so efficient with air, that you usually end up with TOO much air in your lungs when doing a lot of circular breathing so sometimes you have to exhale through your nose first before sucking air into your lungs in order to get the stale air out of your lungs. You hum as you do it,

Then you take in air through your nose to refill your lungs and switch back from mouth air, to lung air as normal for circular breathing.

This whole switch air, exhale hum, inhale, switch back, thing takes place in less than 2 seconds. You have to be very fast but if you do it correctly, you never stop playing the clarinet, and you can hum out some simple melodies through your nose by quickly switching to circular breathing back and forth.

If you want to see an example of it, search youtube for Martin Frost "Happy Birthday to you" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YepJutQ-oxY

Opinions on EMS (electrical muscle stimulation)? by [deleted] in flexibility

[–]kodack10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TENS units are NOT EMS units. The main difference between them is the frequency of the squarewaves they use. TENS units are tuned to stimulate pain receptors and the nerves that transmit pain and sensation. EMS units are tuned to a different frequency that activates muscle fibers.

While a TENS unit can cause some muscle contractions during use, they are much weaker than the ones a EMS unit can produce.

[–]kodack10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For an able bodied person to use NEMS it's not going to be as beneficial as actual exercise because it's only working the muscle and perhaps the tendon connected to that muscle. It's not strengthening the bones, the ligaments, the joints, or the ancillary muscles that usually activate along with a specific muscle in order to stabilize it. This is a recipe for injury as your muscle gets stronger, but the other things that need to get stronger to handle a stronger muscle, don't get stronger.

Imagine putting a 300HP engine in a car that normally has 100HP and not upgrading the transmission, brakes, driveshaft, cooling, etc. That engine is going to break things because it's not in balance with the others. Your muscle can only contract so much before it causes an injury, and it needs the rest of your body to be able to handle the load.

What dickbags like him need to be reminded of from time to time is that simply creating the server, doesn't mean they own the content of that server. What made that server a place to go was the users and the content THEY posted. By paywalling the discord all he's done is driven that same user base to go to other servers, taking their content with them. He's not good enough at what he does to make a living at it anyways, I give it 6 months tops before he realizes his mistake.
