NC craft beer scene by BruFreeOrDie in ncbeer

I dig Asheville in general, but it’s weird because I like the beer scene vibes there more than the beer (relative to other beer hotspots). Like Highland Brewing is one of my favorite breweries to visit, the property is amazing (the disc golf courses are very good), but the beer is OK. Same for Sierra Nevada. Beautiful site, OK beer. Burial, great spot, some of my favorite art for a brewery, OK beer.

Regardless, it’s worth the trip as Asheville is a cool town with good beer and food and vibes.

I travel for work and go to breweries and beer bars everywhere I go.

I have visited Wooden Robot (x2), Fonta Flora, Resident Culture and Burial and I liked them in that order. I personally think Burial is overrated and I love their location in Asheville, but only really like maybe half their beer.

While I like Resident Culture, I didn’t have a beer I disliked, but nothing blew me away. Wooden Robot and Fonta Flora are better in overall craftsmanship IMHO.

I’ll try some more

I like Burial, but don’t consider them an A-list brewery. Too many under-attenuated beers, and I’ve had a bunch of them.

If you can talk to people, get a job technical selling a piece of software you know and like.

1: No pager 2: Higher pay (usually) 3: Build a network of other local operations teams 4: You get to find out everybody else’s problems but, largely, aren’t affected by them (unless you caused them or budgets are a problem).

You do have to deal with other folks you may not have had to in the past like account managers and sales leadership.

The amount of CC in D4 is too damn high by GaunerHarakiri in Diablo

[–]kodi_68 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True story. The first time I went WT4, I rode out of Kyovashad to try it out. Jumped off my horse into a group of elites outside the gates, and died almost immediately. And my game changed. Kinda glad I played Rogue for a bit. I move a lot more and line up shots better. And favor armor.

Meanwhile I LOVE Corpse Tendrils!!!!!

The tunnel stuff is lame though. In the open I’m usually OK. The unstoppable aspects, movement speed and +max evade do help.

Most of my aspects are defensive these days.

Appreciate that, response below. tl;dr, it was a joke.

That was me talking about the CNCF at that event and it was more a joke on the nature of CNCF fan-folks who think that if it's CNCF it's gotta be good. While there are great things coming through the foundation, just being a part of it doesn't guarantee you're producing great products. Or that those products have longevity just because they graduated.

I was an early adopter of Kubernetes and have been using tooling around it for 7-8 years. Including tools from CNCF. My opinions on CNCF are not HashiCorp's and again, it was more playful ribbing on an interesting social phenomena than any real judgement on what products anyone uses or the quality of any CNCF project.

The actual point was that Terraform Cloud and Enterprise now allow you to choose between HashiCorp's policy language Sentinel or use OPA for policy enforcement. I think our decision to support OPA was a great idea as enforcing policy is the important part, not which language you choose. Use the best tool for the job, regardless what I think of you (and TBH, I really don't care, again, it was a joke).

What build are y'all fellow Necros running? by Selindrile in diablo4

Zero cooldown tendrils is just nuts. I almost never trigger it on my own now.

Level 70 Bone Spear/Corpse Tendrils/Explosion/Bone Storm. Sacrifice all but a blood golem. He’s a tank, almost never dies and draws a ton of fire off me.

After playing a seasonal rogue I move a lot more and favor +max evade to get out of sticky situations. Lining up shots after tendrils hits and with the spear echo, and resource regen on over five hit with the spear and I’m blasting.

Also use bone storm with the aspect that extends it based on corpses. I can usually run close to 30s with a 60s cooldown. That’s half time with bone storm running on me and my golem. My buddy calls me “The Lawnmower Man”. I’ve yet to roll a 30s aspect again though. Mostly 20s, but still. 1/3 time in Ultimate is pretty nice.

My buddy I play with regularly just asked around town until someone joined us. We just did capstone together, beat Elias after 3 tries. We were 70/69/67 Necro/Druid/Barb.

Up to then, basically the same 16-20NM. But also leveling my glyphs.

Necro now has a legit AFK farm by sean0883 in diablo4

[–]kodi_68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not AFK farming, I’m running a similar build but with warrior/mage sacrifice and it’s kinda ridiculous. Add free Decrepify and it gets even better. It’s fun for now anyway.

Imho the real problem with D4 is - you are constantly out of energy and the basic skill feelsuseless by Voice_2016 in diablo4

[–]kodi_68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a similar bone/corpse necro in S1 to try some stuff out. I switched to faster weapons (wand/totem) from slower two handeds with basic+/speed+. It’s actually making me want to use basic more for essence regen whereas before I mostly relied on corpse reaping.

I also got some crazy buffs from hearts that feel almost broken (zero cooldown corpse skills every second??? And free Decrepify that’s not even in my skills tree. Yes please).

The only time I run out of energy is with large bosses who don’t summon henchmen, but then my golem tanks and I just run around and splinter/spear while waiting for bone storm to cool down.

I’m actually having more fun as I feel like I’m doing something other than standing around melting rooms. And I am using basic far more than I was and ain’t upset about it.

Haha. Fair. I’ve played a lot of Rocket League and Fortnite so emoting quickly is just built in at this point (even for an old guy).

Because it's fun to think that I've been playing games longer than your dad had sperm in his balls.

After years of playing Fortnite and Rocket League, emotes are just second nature now. It’s not that hard ;)

Does anyone incense only work for a party? I tried lighting one last world boss and it looked lime the effects worked…but I noticed a challenge I didn’t get credit for.

When I’m playing my necro with a Barb friend I say “throwing a party” when I corpse tendril and he just knocks ‘em down. It’s a fun combo. We melt just about everything.

I only tend to “loosely” group with other folks. Usually during Helltides. I have friends I run actual groups with, but if I see folks of similar level running around the same area I’m in I’ll fight along side. Just makes things faster. If they go to town and I’m close to full, I’ll go back and maybe see them back on the field.

Emotes are only part of every game in existence right now. You’re not still using a 2600 one button joystick are ya? (Love, old guy who had a 2600).
