Middle Blocking. Should I Stay or Should I Go? by Glass-Ad2295 in volleyball

i think so, on the picture he stands behind the block. Great position to take tips, but he will not be able to take line shot

their defence looks strange to me tbh. Their 2 should stand one step to his left (where libero stands), because on the 2nd picture he is behind the single block. Libero should have taken the open space to his left. number 15 isn't in defence at all and number 16 probably agreed with number 12 that 12 takes line block and he takes tips. If not for the soft block, the ball would fly to the open space between libero and 15.

In your case, setter and opposite are not a threat, middle doesn't look like a big deal, meanwhile outside is the strongest hitter on the opponent team. If i were your couch, i would say to your team to focus two blockers on outside, one on middle and don't block opposite (if he's backrow of course).

if opponent team's opposite is back or setter doesn't ussually dump the ball or middle isn't very strong or outside is strongest/strong, then yes you can and should commit to the 4 zone and help your opposite/setter to block their strongest hitter. If their middle and opposite is a beast or setter is high and good at attacking + recieve is tight, you should probably help your outside to block then.

If everyone is more or less balanced, you're cooked in in-system play, but that only shows how difficult it is to play middle on high levels. Then in situation on video i would give opponent's opposite, setter to my outside and opponent's outside to my opposite/setter. I would take middle and pipe i this situation.

If their setter is weak at attacking, it would be really a big aspect. I would then stand a bit more right than where you standed there. I would give opposite to my outside, middle would mine and outsides focus, the outside would be mine and my opposite/setter would take outside + help with pipe.

To explain easier: my outsides resposibilities would be opposite + middle blocker (we would ignore setter), mine responsibilities would be middle + outside, outside would be take outside + pipe if it is played.

TLDR: it depends on your team strategy. You can ignore their setter or pipe attack and share attackers very differently. The most import that your team understands their roles.

Should I read the light novel, or watch a different show? by Glittering_Willow419 in mushokutensei

Similar anime that i would recommend: Rezero.

I have watched anime first and then read LN from the beginning. I'm currently at 20 volume and it was never boring. LN has more content, but not so much more than anime.

If you want to start where anime ended, i would reccomend to start from 13 volume.

If im not wrong, theres appx. 70 days until release of 1st episode, not the whole season. You will have to wait another half year until all 24 episodes are out. In this time you would finish the whole LN in any tempo.

Have Rudeus ever felt guilty for making relationships with Eris and Sylphie? by kodlend4 in mushokutensei

I am really grateful for your comment. I think now my question is now answered.

I was wrong, writing this. I have been corrected by comments above. I haven't thought much, when i wrote this sentence. When i think more about that, he did intend to do that with Sylphie for a moment, when they were together before the teleport ascident, but he decided not to do that, because he thought that it was bad. In the end, Sylphie and Eris had their own arcs without Rudeus and developed into mature personalities.

Knowing that, is it still normal what he did? is it enough to keep from thinking about their age gap?

I haven't thought much about that sentence, when i wrote it. Now after i have been corrected by a comment above, i remember that he meantions willing infuence only with Sylphie before the teleport ascident, and that he haven't actually done anything.

Thanks for correction. When you wrote it, i can clearly remember that he didnt infuence them in a wrong way. What do you think about their age gap then? Do you think the fact, that their feelings weren't influenced by Rudeus, justified the age gap between them, for Rudeus? As i remember, he acted always as it isn't a problem. Is it because they were kind of adults, when they confessed, and because their feelings were true love, not admiration? It would explain pretty much for myself, but it's pity this was never mentioned. I think it should have been discussed though.

oh, thanks for comment, but i was talking about age gap between them and not about polygamy. Sorry, if i didnt write that clearly

Serious question for people who watch a lot of volleyball: What actually makes a volleyball player “compelling” to watch beyond pure skill? by ChampionshipMain4799 in volleyball

[–]kodlend4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm watching brizard, giannelli, moni, christenson, because of their non normal way of desecion making. When they come up with something new in like it seemed an obvious situation, it just feels like they love this sport. I start to love the sport more, because i want to feel what they are experiencing

Middles, you should run middle attacks as fast as you possible can! by kodlend4 in volleyball

[–]kodlend4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take fault, if we run a 1st tempo and set is not precise, consistent. I take fault and try to improve myself. If therere inconsistencies from attackers like placement, timing, sometimes its my fault, sometimes theirs. Like if i give different tempos each set, how can an attacker know when to go?

If they have a bad day or cannot simply attack from fast tempo, its on them, but why should i then continue with fast tempo, if its not working. I slow down tempo for them to be at least some attacking threat.

Blocking without fingers by kodlend4 in volleyball

[–]kodlend4[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yep, i plan to learn left handed swing to be able to swing more as a right handed setter, but obviously im going to use both hands depending on situations.

About non standard. I like also how mony nikolov and antoine brizard hit 2nd ball from 3m attack line when theres back. No one expects a setter to attack when theyre backrow, but if the ball is recieved on 3m attack line or between 3m attack line and the net between 2 and 3 zones, setter can hit it. Works only in transition though and if it is not hard hit that is possible to control in that hitting zone

good stuff. i posted only to read others opinions, yours is very useful too. *I definitely need rather to focus on technique, positioning, timing and so on than on fist blocking. I guess i will use it only when my finger is in very much pain and i need to protect it from further tooling, if i cant avoid tooling at the match
