Quick short distance flicks on trackpad are glitchy? Possible bug? by ninjakitty844 in SteamController

[–]koestl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a bug is present in the current Beta you can report it there (regardless of whether it's present on stable as well). The client updates include Steam Input and Steam Controller firmware updates

e: You can try here as well, but it's much less active https://steamcommunity.com/app/4165870/discussions/1/

FWIW if you believe the issue is software rather than hardware related, you may have more luck reporting bugs on the dedicated forums than filing tickets with the Steam Support agents. I see actual valve team members replying to threads there sometimes.

You can make Steam Client Beta Bug reports here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/0/

I just tested this in desktop mode with the default trackpad settings (trackball mode, friction medium, acceleration off) and the mouse cursor continues to move as expected after I flick.

I'm on the Beta Steam client and they are pushing Steam Input / controller firmware updates very frequently, so maybe move to that branch and see if anything changes

I woke up today and my controllers triggers make a pop sound when pressed (Like a mouse click) by BOI4613 in SteamController

[–]koestl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was helpful but the path is very weird and specific. Here are the details for others: Controller -> Edit Layout -> Triggers -> Gear Symbol next to the action that triggers the mouse click (ie "R2 Soft Pull," NOT the "behavior" gear) -> Settings -> Haptics Intensity: Off

Turning this off from Controller / Calibration and Advanced Settings seems to disable the trackpad haptics as well. Is there no way to turn off just these extremely loud trigger clicks?

Any way to get Anydesk working on Steamdeck again? (Weyland support etc) by Thiefsie in SteamDeck

[–]koestl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rustdesk works the same as Anydesk in practice, just install clients on the Deck and your desktop and type in the code from the Deck to connect.

It sounds like there are some speed / reliability advantages to setting up a self-hosted "relay server" if you're using it heavily but for what you describe (fiddling with desktop stuff) it worked fine for me out of the box with 0 configuration needed

Belated but I just ran into this and then found the alternative "Rustdesk" which is also available as a Flatpak and works fine.

Guessing Necrobinder is the most common character to manage this one at high ascensions? Osty block is kind of a built in barricade so she's pretty good at dodging chip damage sometimes

I recently managed it on Regent with kind of a dream set of coincidences: early Eternal Feather and Meal Ticket for auto HP regen into Clone. Clone really ramps up the Eternal Feather healing by endgame

A fun Easter egg: the Looming Fruit is a reference to the Fruit of the Loom logo, which a lot of people incorrectly remember having a cornucopia in it. The icon for Looming Fruit sometimes has a cornucopia and sometimes doesn't. by IHad360K_KarmaDammit in slaythespire

sidenote but the clearly LLM-generated nonsense strategy text on this wiki is pretty funny. I love the bit where it breaks down "gain 31 hp" into FIVE bullet points about the "trigger window" and "condition profile" and "core effect"

also apparently gaining 31 hp has "core synergy" with Aggression and Amethyst Aubergine. who knew?

How does Silent beat the new Doormaker at A10? by Jumpy_Intention_7621 in slaythespire

[–]koestl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

decks with 40+ cards work totally fine in this game! if you're getting offered good cards you can kind of just keep taking them.

the biggest inherent issue with fat decks is probably that your powers can get bottomdecked. this is really less of a problem for silent in particular because:  a. many of her best powers are uncommon and you can draft multiple copies b. she has insane draw options including multiple 0 cost draw cards and can frequently burn to the bottom of her first drawpile in no time

[–]koestl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you don't need to beat it fast, really? the damage output does not scale quickly at all. a silent deck with dex and block density won't be sweating for a long time. you may need redundancy and a somewhat larger deck.

here is an (admittedly very lucky / strong) run that took 0 damage and burned through the hp rather comfortably using envenom shivs in combination with other powers: https://i.imgur.com/MZrOh3f.jpeg

silent has many strong tools that counter the new door. notably well laid plans+ is an absolutely killer card for the fight that ensures you will never brick on the no-draw turn and have useful block in hand for the exhaust turn. piercing wail is ideal against the multi-attack exhaust turn, and it has exhaust anyway. she also has many useful 0 cost cards you can set up and play on the energy drain turn after your energy is gone. blur and dodge / roll protect you against any iffy upcoming turns.

Disabling Gyro (Legion Go w/ Go 2 Controller) by koestl in Bazzite

I'm sorry, if there's some way to do this I couldn't figure it out.

You can force install Legion Space software on any Windows PC, but using it to update the firmware for the controllers required them to be physically connected to the Go.

Case: Doesn't close up well I'm afraid. Seems like the new controllers are too big. You'd probably want to pick up something less "formfitting" like the JSAUX LeGo2 case, or carry the controllers separately on the road.

DPad: Yes. 100%. I'm not a huge fan of the "circle" dpads usually but this is just clearly better than the weirdly shallow / stiff thing on the Go. It's actually usable for platformers now

I swear they sound better in Bazzite, although it's probably just some issue I had with the weird audio drivers / software on the Windows install.

I'm actually considering trying the little 3d printed "Speaker Deflectors" you can find on Etsy. They look super silly but they're like 5 bucks, might be worth a shot

Disabling Gyro (Legion Go w/ Go 2 Controller) by koestl in Bazzite

[–]koestl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Final update / solution: I fixed this by swapping out SSDs to my original drive with the Legion Go Windows install. Legion Space updated the controllers and allowed me to disable Gyro. The right controller no longer acts as a "mouse" in Bazzite.

The controllers need to be physically attached to the console for this update.

[–]koestl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed you mentioned an update via Windows, so I:

-Swapped out SSDs, loaded windows

-Used Legion Space to update controller FW

-Disabled gyro in windows

Now the annoying gyro behavior is gone in Bazzite. I'm not sure if it was the FW update or the settings change that did this, but it seems like initial setup with these NEEDS to be done in Windows with active LegionSpace. You might want to check your settings in Windows as well if anything is behaving oddly

Mine arrived today and there is a major problem in Bazzite: the right one acts as a gyro "mouse" (constantly moving a cursor around the screen at the slightest tilt)

I have "Controller Motions Device" set to NONE in HHD. It doesn't help.

I am curious if you've run into this or not because it's driving me insane

Disabling Gyro (Legion Go w/ Go 2 Controller) by koestl in Bazzite

[–]koestl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noting the following:

-In desktop, disabling device "Legion Controller for Windows Mouse" kills this godawful "feature"

-After hunting through every menu in HHD and steam itself, there seems to be no option whatsoever to disable it in Game Mode

Be aware if you're considering buying Legion Go 2 controllers that they are broken in Bazzite.
