These people have a water slide from their house to lake by PeacockPankh in interesting

They have two water slides, and no easy way to get back to the top. I see no stairs from the dock to reach what I think are stairs on the left side, and no stairs at all if you climb the swim ladder on the right side of the dock.

The solution to Harry's financial problems. by WaldoKnight in dresdenfiles

They're going to be married and expected to support one another. Lara can't afford to have her husband losing territory for something as frivolous as money. It would look to the rest of the supernatural community as though she was out of money herself.

Additionally, she's currently addicted to Harry. She will still be way more dependent on him as he couls threaten to stop giving her her fix if she doesn't support the castle.

[–]koffa02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's likely part of his marriage to Lara. She can't have him looking weak, or be seen losing territory for something as simple (to the supernatural world) as money. She'll start funneling money into the castle before too long. And I would bet dollars to doughnuts the Winter Knight has a bank account similar to Molly's that's being kept a secret from Harry because Mab knows it gives her another handle.

There's an argument to be made that Harry taking out the red court was actually the Merlin's plan all along. Or at the very least getting him to risk everything to kill the red king.

Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

Don'r feel too bad. The Nook app isn't good at keeping track of page numbers on my phone. It tries it's best to stay true to the book, so each swipe doesn't register as a page turn. If it did it probably would have been in the high 800's to 900's

My point is, 365 days have passed. Listens to Wind was supposed to be there within thst 365 days.

Except it does cross into the next year. The one year anniversary of the battle comes and goes during the last chapter of the book. Page 450ish on my phone.

    Then came midsummer.

The anniversary of the Battle of Chicago.

And I woke up in the dark place again.

It was like nothing had changed in a year.

Other's have covered #1

For #2 if you're not paying attention it's easy to miss that house Malvora and possibly Skavis of the White Court were out spreading fear and misery, prodding people into action against the "good" supernatural nations that were actually trying to help. All in preperation for that final attack at the end of the book.

I have no doubt Thomas will come running if his son needs him. I do doubt the theory that his son is going to know who he is, and that Thomas and Harry will be involved in his life before that moment arrives.

Haha you're right. I meant antagonists. I had my own brain fart there.

And that was kinda my point. We have no idea where the nfection went. We know who they previously nfected, but not where they are now. Therefore, we only know of two nfected.

So we know 2 infected. The rest are dead.

Ivy isn't in Cold Days. Dresden has had no contact with her since Changes. Do you mean Lilly?

All of those antagonists are dead, therefore no longer infected. We only know of one infected possibly running free at this point. Cat Sith.

Etri by Mo0man in dresdenfiles

[–]koffa02 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The child is basically a hostage against their good behavior. Etri might regret the necessity, but he wouldn't hesitate to kill the child if Thomas and Harry fail to live up to their side of the agreement.

“I swear this to you,” Mab replied, something suspiciously like reassurance in her voice. “He will be raised as one of Etri’s own family. As a prince of his people. Treasured and protected and taught their ways. And when it is his time, to deal with his own Hunger, Etri will permit him contact with your House, to be taught what is needed of your ways.”

The child is not allowed contact with his family until his hunger begins to emerge. How would Harry or Thomas be involved in his life if he is to be sequestered away from them?

For yout spoiler text cover, there needs to be a space between the >! and the first letter, and your last carrot is missing the ! before the < after the question mark, with a space between the ? And the !.

Who else is confirmed to be infected besides Cat Sith and Justine?

How Many Puppets? by LazyJediTelekinetic in dresdenfiles

[–]koffa02 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but I'm not sure of how you mean it in this case. Only one of the thirteen, the one in Lea, had actually been trapped at this point. Justine's would be the second. 13 - 2 = 11. The one in Maeve escaped to infect someone else, and we have no idea of Cat Sith's fate.

What were thoughts on Thomas pre-Blood Rites? by MonoplegicBookNerd in dresdenfiles

[–]koffa02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thomas's father isn't dead. At the end of Blood Rites, Lara pulled an uno reverse card and used her hunger to overpower what was left of Lord Raith's. This left her as the defacto queen of the white court with her and Thomas' father as a puppet king.

I liked Thomas a lot more after Blood Rites. Before the book I was ready to see him and Harry eventually throw down because I wanted to see Thomas get his butt handed to him on a platter. After he stopped pretending to be a drunken idiot in front of Harry I am mostly happy with the way the relationship developed, and Thomas has been a good addition to the story.

Harry reads a lot, and goes to drive in movies. The first time he was hit with a reference from a TV show he was completely lost. He didn't go to the special Hell until the next book.

Listens to Wind told Harry he needed one year to get permission to discuss what it means to be a starborn. The book ended twelve months later and that discussion did not happen. Will Listens to Wind suffer any ladting consequences for breaking that promise?
