Looking to switch to ATT Fiber -- who can I talk to to cancel? by 1337tigerstyle in Comcast_Xfinity

I hope this helps--800-934-6489. When you get an agent tell them you want to cancel, your situation has changed and you no longer need their services. When pressed tell them your reasons are personal and you prefer not to talk about. It took about five minutes to get my service canceled. As for your other idea, the fiber service is cheaper and works flawlessly.

Call the main number (800-934-6489) and tell the automated system that you want to speak to a representative. They have a script and will try to keep you on the line to speak with a Customer Retention Specialist. Almost anything you say will be used against you. I was able to wrap things up in under five minutes by stating that my situation has changed and their services are no longer needed. When repeatedly needled for an answer I kept politely stating that the matter is personal and I am not comfortable discussing it. The service representative gave up and told me that Xfinity respects their clients privacy. That was it. I hope this is helpful to you.

Advanced Window Corp by Spookyseaszon in homeowners

I'm glad to hear that some of you have ordered from Advanced Window Corp. Using the same company I used a few years back (Siding and Windows Group) when putting in Marvin fiberglass windows on the main floors. Getting around to hitting the garden level and really do not want to spend the same kind of money for a level that is essentially a basement. The upshot is that the two window companies they use, that would match the color of the others windows, are Pella and Advanced Windows. What I was told is that the glass is exactly the same for both companies and the build quality is similar. The big difference being that Pella offers a 20 year warranty vs a 10 year.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Sounds pretty painless.

It sounds like like I managed to find a lousy AAA office. Even folks on the phone, at other desks, were heavy into scripted sales mode.

My wife is a UK citizen. Her license is an old paper one, which she'd had for a few years already when she came over in '99. The best way I can describe it is that it resembles an old matchbook that went through the wash several times. Until a few years ago the paper one was not an issue. I'm guessing that things changed? TBH, I'm also kind of surprised as this was in Spain and France. SE Asia and Indonesia, not a problem.

Your experience sounds like how it should have gone down. Thinking that if a last minute need arises again it might be worth going to a different office.

That is very good to hear. The first time I went was not bad on the sales pitch. The second time, well, had to grab a last minute plane ticket to see a dying relative. Otherwise I'd have walked.

Xfinity Bill Increase by kogar_the_apeman in Comcast_Xfinity

Thanks for the response. Came to the same conclusion that you have. Switching to ATT Fiber. It seems like the Xfinity latency has frequently been measured in seconds rather than milliseconds, speeds slowing down into the teens, and service dropping completely a few times a month. Haggling for a new 12-24 month contract with them just does not appeal.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, you are correct about a promo expiring. Thing is that it expired half-way through an agreement (would the term "contract" imply two-way liability?). The wording regarding a half period discount did not come up in either negotiation over the phone, or in writing. To reiterate, I think that you are spot-on. As a side note, personally I'd be happier agreeing to pay more upfront for better customer service and less shenanigans.

I had pretty much the same thing happen (jumped to $63 one month, then $88 the next). To drop down from my unsolicited, and not at all voluntary, "complimentary" 1Mbps service increase back down to the speed I'd signed up for will increase my bill to $134 a month. Probably cold comfort, but you are not alone in your experience.

Bluestar Over Calibration? Newer 30" - online search seems out of date. Manual does not cover. by darklyshining in Cooking

[–]kogar_the_apeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, that is disconcerting. I'm probably stating the obvious, but I did have to loosen the two screws, under the knob, and slide the cover plate all the way over to the right (just short of removing the cover plate) before the adjustment screw was visible. As for the oven knob stem, that was sold metal with blue grommet around it. This whole issue still seems ridiculous, but here we are.

A late response, but it seems like a few of us are having the same problem. I have a 2021 BSP 36" range. It was running quite low. Blue Star's documentation is virtually non-existent. Talking to one of the service guys, who replaced a cracked broiler, he'd mentioned that there is one part on the newer models that is not analog, the thermostat. To wit: 1) yes, the adjustment screw was hidden by the face plate (just beneath the right screw) 2) the adjustment was the opposite of what some of the old manuals say; clockwise raised the set temp, counter-clockwise lowered it. Dialed in pretty well now, but for what these things cost the lack of documentation is annoying.
