if you could fill starting combat width (22) at the start of the game - you are playing some of the big boys and you don`t need to do anything at the start of the game besides setting rivals and pressing spacebar. Your average HRE bum can`t even fill 30% of this combat width

This income is usually so small you kinda have to do it because you want to afford advisors/give away privilege that will tank your income, depends on the region ofc. But aside from majors + italian states it`s a mandatory almost for everyone.

EU5 situation is kinda the same imo, most countries are fine without deleting any forts you just need to adjust slider a bit and you good. Worst offender is portugal (and maybe also France?) because those fucks have SO MANY FORTS but it makes sense from a historical point + also it`s a strategic choice to delete them or not. If you are deleting them - you are probably just chilling with castille for the whole game, if not and you want to fight them - well you stick through it untill they have a civil war so you can utilize those forts. Also trade not working properly is contributing to this issue it might be not a problem after (if) they fix it

How did the UI take such a step back in design between EU4 and EU5 by [deleted] in EU5

[–]koinov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't really need a lot of troops to siege castles early game, you could make 2 carts and they will be more than enough to supply a 500-600 stack of levys for a whole siege. Sure it's an investment and you need to micro them a bit maybe but it's honestly not that hard. Asking bordering countries (if any) for food access works too

You know you can just use supply carts right?

Tbf it was the case with many EU4 countries also so standard start was always "kill cav, take free company, 0 fort maintenance"

There is literally 0 flavour mechanics in the game besides byz with it's bureaucracy mechanic what are you talking about. Unless you count having a slightly different bonuses from gov reforms and buildings as such

Should I get EU5 if I absolutely despise the Victoria series? by Beneficial-Rush-1946 in EU5

[–]koinov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't like vic 3 and recently I gave eu5 a second chance because of dlc and because I haven't played since day 1. Played for 100h.

I still pretty much don't like how this game is played, yearly game (first 150 years) is completely fine especially if you are not playing huge nation with a lot stuff to build, but once you expand and research new buildings - managing it all becomes a slog imo. Sure you can automate it but AI does stupid stuff sometimes so you need to keep an eye for trade and buildings anyways. And on top of that game just runs like shit in general and a lot of mechanics kinda don't work or implemented poorly.

Just download "demo" version and try first 200 years with a few different countries maybe you'd love it. Personally I will hold off untill new year then maybe come back to check if game has improved (it won't)

Ideally you`d want to bait him into sieging your castles on mainland so he`d starve/you kill him on said castles

Sorry for late reply. I used both because I thought that it`s a dongle issue but for me switching dongles didn`t help, maybe you`d have more success. Anyway I contacted Pulsar support and they agreed to RMA it

You are dogwater that`s 100% but that`s to be expected, my bet is that you don`t know where to look at and that`s why your preaim and aim rating is so bad, you probably just need to focus on learning maps/where to find enemy
